Bach Party Timing - Traditional or Modern?

Lynnie, on April 9, 2018 at 11:11 Posted in Before the wedding 0 23

When is your bachelor or bachelorette party?

The old tradition was to have your bach party the night before the wedding as your true "last night as a single person"! Thankfully most bach parties are now held weeks or months in advance, so no one is hungover or missing on the wedding day!

What about you? Are you embracing the traditional "night before" timing?

Modern, we will probably do it about 2 weeks out as that is when my sister (MOH) is able to visit. My FH will probably do something a few weeks out.

Absolutely doing modern! He can't be trusted to show and who wants to be hungover day of. No thank you!! We'll be doing them weeks before so there's tons of recovery time.

Modern for sure. We have so much going on the night before the wedding (rehearsal and hosting family from out of town) but I will be spending the night at the hotel with my girls so i guess it's kind of like a bachelorette but with a set bed time haha

My bachelorette is July 21 2018 and his bachelor party is July 28 2018.

Very very modern. I even have a "hangover demand" for my FH's bachelor party, where his hangover day must be with someone else, as I do not want to baby him the day afterwards Smiley xd

My bachelorette "party" is actually going to be a weekend at my mom's house (ocean view on Vancouver Island), with my mom, FMIL and bridesmaids. Vineyards, wine, good food, and hopefully some games. I'm definitely not the party girl.

Modern! I would have been a wreck if we had the bach parties the night before!

A traditional batch party would be ideal but knowing how hard my fiancé and his buddies party, my fiancé would sleep right through the wedding!! Right. Ow it is too early during the planning process to think about the Bach party but it will most definitely be modern.

Modern, and im chucking out the "flirt & drink all night" notion- my MOH has 2 young kids & im not this kind of person- i don't even flirt with guys when my FH is not here, so why bother during a bachlorette party? i said adios to being single when he popped the question!

Modern. No way in hell is my fh or myself going out the night before and risking being hungover for our wedding day.

Modern- no way could I deal with the stress of it being the night before and don't want to see everyone hung over

Modern - we are having our bach/ette parties about 2 weeks before the wedding. We will be setting up our venue the night before the wedding, so we may be a tad busy. Haha

We probably won't be having them. IF we do it will be about a month or so before the wedding. So modern!

I’m hoping it’s modern but my maid of honour hasn’t told me when she’s planned it for yet!

Very modern and non-traditional for me. I’m not super into the bachelorette party thing, so I’m having a bridesmaids brunch a week before the wedding. We’re also going to play laser tag with the whole wedding party two nights before the wedding.

Modern; the last thing I want is to be hungover on my wedding day.

Modern, there's the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding and don't want the whole wedding party hungover for the day-of either!

Modern scheduling, we are spending the night before the wedding apart with our wedding parties but it’s going to be low key and have our big parties further in advance.

Our wedding is the weekend after a long weekend so I'm hoping to do my bachelorette party at a resort during the long weekend! I hope my fiance has a similar idea with his crew! I have told his boys that he CANNOT show up to the wedding hungover haha!
