Average bridesmaids dress price?

Miav, on July 31, 2019 at 01:02 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 18
3 of my bridesmaids will be coming in from other countries, 20+ hours of flights and almost 2000cad worth of flight tickets, just to attend my big day. I am thinking to pay for their dresses as part of my gift for each of them. I'm wondering how much your girls spent on their dresses on average? and alteration costs? TIA! Smiley smile

My sister just started planning her wedding and she looked through picture of everyone at formals to see if they have dresses already within her colour skeem. Asking your bridesmaids to use dresses they already have may be an option. The different styles make it interesting and they should compliment your bridesmaids body type.

You dont have to go to an actual bridal shop. even just some place with dresses. you could even get lucky at walmart for all you know. depends on the image you are looking for. the range for bridesmaid dresses have such a huge range

Yes, thinking of sending them a colour that i like then they can pick the cut they want. I forgot to mention that I have 4 bridesmaids, 3 overseas and 1 here with me in the same city. At first we were thinking to go to David's Bridal or other shops for her dress but i'm not sure how to match with the other 3, so perhaps all of them will have Azazie dresses. Less complicated process. Thanks for the tips! Smiley smile

That sounds like the best way to do it - ship it to you and then ship to them!

You can also create a showroom to show your bridesmaids different styles of dresses or just let your bridesmaids browse the site and pick the dress they like most, as long as it falls within the style criteria you pick out (e.g. chiffon, floor length, certain colour, lace, etc).

Thanks a lot! Smiley smile i've recently ordered their swatches to see the actual colour options. I'm thinking to do the same to minimize the hassle of shipping dresses back and forth and stressing about how to match fabrics. I also like that they do custom sizing! I'm thinking to buy the Azazie dresses according to their custom sizes and ship it once to them and they can hem it if they like Smiley smile

Azazie is amazing, we used it since my girls are all in different places and it would've been impossible to all go shopping together! The prices usually start at around $120 CAD and go until $230 CAD so definitely affordable - even after shipping

Azazie also does custom sizing, which I highly recommend! My bridesmaids found that they only need a bit of hemming and no other alterations. If you get knee-length, you won't run into the hemming issue. Also with the custom sizing, Azazie will reimburse a portion of the alterations cost.

Azazie recently launched a Canadian site, so you can see prices in CAD and the shipping is less than the American site to ship to Canada. If you have questions about Azazie, feel free to reach out to me! Smiley smile

I think anywhere from $150 -$300 is probably normal. Not including alterations if they need that.

Alterations can be $100... depends on what is being done to the dress.

For the dresses we got they were floor length so they were just under $200 before alterations. If you can afford that to be their gift than go for it - but dresses are something that the bridal party is aware that they have to buy so don't feel obligated to make up for them living out of country.

It comes down to your style, and what you want your girls to wear. Different fabrics, and lengths will be different prices.
Anywhere from $105-$300 I have seen for dresses.

I agree with Missa all depends on where they go. I would try david's bridal to see if in their country's or go to a local dress place and ask what brands are carried in every country they are in so can try on and get measured and then you can order them.

It depends on where you go, I would say anywhere between $150 - $250 (depending on your taste, if you want them to wear long dresses or knee lenght). As for alteration, it really depends what needs to be done but in the past for my dresses it was around 100$. That's so great that they are flying here for your wedding!!
