Arriving to the ceremony- when you are getting ready elsewhere

Ashley, on December 26, 2018 at 14:48 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9
Hi everyone,
I am getting married this September in an outdoor venue. I am wondering if anyone has any advice or had the same situation for the following. Myself and the bridesmaids will not be getting ready at the venue, when we arrive we will have to walk through the outdoor reception space to the outdoor ceremony space which will be visible to those sitting in attendance. I don’t love the idea of people watching me arrive before the “walking down the aisle “ starts. As a bride how did you make your entrance? Will I just have to time this very well? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have family members hold up clothes before you arrive so that no one knows you've arrived. It will help to keep you getting to your place for entering. Even if its curtains from home you that's brought to the venue.

I definitely agree with Tyanna. Also, I have seen people kind of take "extra precautions", where two bridesmaids, or parents or something, hold up a sheet, to make a moving 'curtain' to block you, just in case of the wandering eyes, or one guest seeing you, gasping, and then everyone turns to look... LOL.

Love this idea! I hadn't thought about it but if we see that we are in the same situation this will come in super handy and help to lighten the mood as people usually get all nerved up and anxious with anticipation!

Congrats on the engagement by the way!

I like tyanna's idea of getting the mc or someone to distract.

when you are arriving. you could even have someone make sure that everyone is seated in the ceremony space first before you exit the car/limo.

Time it well and maybe find yourself a big cloak or something to cover you as you get out of the vehicle and into your place?

Can you get your MC or someone else to play distraction while you slip in? If they get everyone's attention at least they probably wouldnt be paying attention to wherever you are walking through!

You could have them tell a fun story about you and your fiance maybe, or maybe some Trivia or something? Lol. Jusy something to pass the time!

When my cousin got married she had a similar situation and they just had everyone turn around for a minute. Nobody minded and it worked really well.

Unfortunately there’s no back entrance. It’s completely outdoors.

I’m getting ready at home then going to the church. The church’s main door is at the back (where the start of the aisle is), so I’ll be arriving and going through the back, so no one should see me - hopefully!

Does your venue have a back entrance?
