Are you sending out invites amid covid, or waiting?

Aparna, on April 24, 2021 at 15:52 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

Hi everyone!

I'm struggling hard with the restrictions in place as we already had to cancel once. But we've planned for a 60 person wedding in the fall now. I'm just wondering if I should actually send out save the dates and hope for the best with restrictions (downsides, may have to uninvite, also might appear insensitive), or if I should keep waiting and send out closer to the date. How far in advance are you planning on inviting people given covid times? Do you think it's insensitive to send out invites earlier?

    Congratulations!

So many decisions, and yes it's hard to know when is too early. A lot of people are setting up websites and on-line viewing which could be your follow up reminder if you send out the invites early. Or it can be your save the date by sending people an announcement with the link to the wedding site, and say invitations to follow!

    Happy planning.

We put directly on our invitation at the bottom -“subject to covid-19 restrictions”
We decided to just send them lol worst case scenario we have to move people to watch on zoom.

My fiance and I were planning on sending out invites for this year if we hadn't decided to postpone to next summer just this past week. But we were also going to let people know that changes could happen at any given moment because of restrictions and gathering counts. Your guests will understand because of the circumstances that we're all in right now

I think you can send out save the dates/invitations as usual but include a note that you are monitoring the situation with covid and ultimately you may have to decrease the guest list. People will understand so I wouldn't be too worried about offending anyone.
