Are Wedding Shows worth it?

Alana, on September 26, 2019 at 15:12 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 9

Hi everyone! The Hamilton Fall Wedding Show is this weekend and I was wondering if it was worth attending? I already have my venue and photographer so I wouldn't be searching for those vendors. I'm wondering if there's good contests or discounts from other vendors? Are they fun? If you could share your experience, that would be great! Thanks in advance! Smiley smile

They have limo, and photobooths, makeup artists etc so there are tons of other vendors to booked. we have everything booked early so we never ended up going to any

I agree with the other comments! I went to the Hamilton Wedding Show last year and I had already booked my venue and my photographer, but there are samples, so much information and discounts offered.

I found it a little overwhelming because there is just so much, but the fashion show was great, there was cake tasting, and you are able to try out the photo booths.

I personally found my vendors by research, but at least I was able to get names and information to research.

If you haven't yet been to one, you must at least experience one!

I love wedding shows! There's free samples, prizes, and tons of vendors all in the same area to talk to. My local wedding shows also have fashion shows of bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses.

I've also found my officiant and my FH's suit designer through going to wedding shows.

I've got two coming up in the next couple months and I always go in with a plan of what kind of vendors to talk to, this time is hair and makeup and florists

Wedding shows give you ideas you may not have thought about. Your start so far is good and can help by seeing what is out there and price comparison wise. The deals you will be offered will not be valid for long as they do show specials and then go back to their regular price. Entering your name will allow you a chance to win some packages from vendors.

These shows are great for seeing what is out there now and what aspects may help you and if the vendor is someone you want to do business for their services. Get their pamplets and business card.

I went last weekend in Niagara. I loved the fashion show. I didn't win anything but there was lots of things to put your name in for. Lots of cake to try out too lol.

I think they're worth it. I went to one here in Regina last October and there was lots of discount offers and contests. I won two of the smaller contests. Last year I went with my MOH, my mom and another bridesmaid. I think this year I'm going to go with my FH.

I went to the Toronto Bridal Show last January to get some ideas of pricing for vendors and to see what's out there (there's A LOT). For me personally, I found it very overwhelming.

I also kind of knew what vendors I wanted to work with in advance (we had venue, photographer and DJ booked already when I went) so the only ones I really ventured to go see were cake vendors and florists. I ended up finding my own cake vendor near my venue and I had a recommendation on my florist who is also my decor vendor!

So like Casey said, if you are in your early planning stages then I think it is worth it to go, but if you already know who you want to work with - I'd skip it.

I went to the Wonderful Wedding Show in Winnipeg 2 times (2018 and 2019) and both times we ended up winning things - so ya, worth it!

You can always find new things to buy like a lipstick you just HAVE to have, a discount on teeth whitening, gift cards to fitness places, etc. that you can either keep for yourself or put as a prize in your Wedding Social / Jack & Jill / Stag & Doe / Stag & Stagette

Plus the fashion shows are pretty cool to watch!

I went to the St. Catharines show last year (Won tickets from the radio) I think if i didn't win them, I probably wouldn't have gone.

I was so far along in my planning that there wasn't much I needed. I did find my florist there, and got to see my dress on the runway, but other than that I didn't need anything else.

If you are in the early stages of your wedding planning, I say go for it! I was really organized and booked stuff far in advance.

It is a fun outing to see the different vendors, enter contests and just get into the spirit of wedding planning.
