I have not seen ushers at weddings recently and don't think you need them honestly.

No, due to the fact that all my family live in Europe and not in Canada, it will be really bad if one side is full and the other has a few people.

We didn't have them. We had a sign that said "Pick a seat, not a side. We're all family once the knot is tied" for the ceremony and then had a seating chart for inside the hall for dinner.

Not necessary. My husband and the groomsmen were ready earlier so that they could greet guests and socialize a little before the ceremony.

We are having ushers, most likely close family friends and possibly some of the guys in the wedding party!

Not necessary, but I like the idea. We haven't actually decided if we are going to or not.

I don't think they're necessary. People can find their own seat. I don't want to do the Bride's side and Groom's side thing.

We wont have ushers but our bridal party and parents will greet guests when they arrive!
