Anyone else second guessing their dress?

Lauryn, on December 3, 2019 at 16:20 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 13
Okay I think I love my wedding dress. It’s comfortable and cute BUT I’m worried that I should have bought someone more mature looking? If that makes sense. It’s a strapless a-line with blush undertones and lace overlay. It’s by Willowby and it’s romantic looking. I guess my biggest fear is that I will look too young or too much like a prom dress than a wedding dress. Ugh I don’t know.

I think it is very normal to doubt your dress selection. But if you loved it when you first saw it, trust your gut and know that it is your dress. Stop shopping and don't try more dresses on.

This dress is stunning! I tried this on second, and ultimately it wasn't the one for me but it was beautfiul, so light and airy. No doubt you will look amazing on your big day! I get the dress doubts, am feeling the same too. Just trying to avoid looking at pics of other dresses.

Your dress is definitely more for a wedding than a prom. It's beautiful and I think it is timeless like romance.

Thank you! I appreciate it. I guess I am just overthinking it. And you’re right I’m sure once it fits better I’ll be excited 😊

It's gorgeous! I love that it looks like antique fabric but in a more modern neckline.

Your dress is beautiful!! I love all the detail! The size is probably weighing on your thoughts right now. Once it fits like a glove, I'm sure you'll feel much better about it! 😊

Thanks all, I guess I just needed to hear that it was normal to have doubts. I think it didn’t help that when it came in, my dress is too big. I should’ve ordered it a size smaller and now I have to get a lot of alterations done so it didn’t feel right being in it. I’m sure once it is fixed and my actual size I will feel a lot better. I attached a picture for reference.

I had a bit of remorse after buying mine (I fell in love with one way out of budget that I couldn't stop thinking about) but the more I look at my dress the more I realize it is so much more me, it fits our venue, and I would feel even more unsure if I had spent too much money on the "other dress". Keep trying it on and try to focus on what you love about it!

As far as how young or prom like it might be, I think no matter what we wear our kids will make fun of our wedding dresses the way we did to our parents ..my mom was an 80's bride with the lace sleeves and the poofyness and the bows, and my dad had a ruffled shirt with tinted glasses and a bad haircut. Their marriage is beautiful though! So don't worry about what you'll think looking back at it in 15 years!

I totally agree with Kelsie - in the months following my dress purchase, I really questioned whether or not it was the one. When I tried it again, and when I had it in my proper size, I fell in love once more. If when you tried it on the first time you felt like a beautiful bride in the perfect dress... Remember that moment! I'm sure those feelings are still true. 😊

I am second guessing my dress as well. I was choosing between 2 dresses, both are beautiful, I prefer one more because I really like the design and overall look, but I chose the other one because all, I meant ALL opinions I asked said that one is better. And I value opinions. Now I'm still thinking about that other dress. It's really confusing

    Hi Lauryn!

Do you have any photos of your dress? Dress FOMO is common especially when you haven’t tried it on in a while.
I was very unsure of my dress after I bought it but once I tried it on I was super excited again!
