How is your cake going to be like?

I am making cookies as our favours. Sugar cookeis are easy to make ahead of time, inexpensive and easy to decorate! I think they will be simple hearts and flooded with yellow frosting like this:

We have chosen something edible because I know a lot of people don't keep trinkets for very long, (we certainly don't) and I hate generating waste needlessly! I've make cakes for weddings in the past, so I am quite confident in my ability

As far as growing flowers, I'm starting them indoors at my mom's house (better light and more space there). Our wedding is in June, so we will have to start them early to get blooms in time, but we have done it before with no issues. Just plan more than we will need, so if some fail we are not high and dry. I'm also not worried if they don't work out- I'm just not the person to stress about those things. I'm excited to get married, flowers won't make or break the day.

My mantra and mindset form day 1 has been to not sweat the details and just revel in the joy of being engaged and entering a marriage.

You should send us pictures of the things you are preparing and making yourself! I would love to see how you're doing it! I'm sure it will be really beautiful!

It's good that you think about using borrowed items, reusing and growing your own plants for your wedding, I'm amazed! Maybe you could give us your tips on that.

I guess you could call it rustic, but maybe not! Our colous are Yellow (like lemons) and Sage green. I'll be wearing sage and babys breath in my hair.

We are trying to be as eco friendly as we can for sure! using reused, and borrowed items to decorate (easy on the budget too!)- and we have chosen a hotel to block rooms for our guests near the reception venue that can be walked to in about two minutes. Our favours are edible, and in little paper bags, which can be recycled.

I am also growing my flowers and sage, and arranging my own flowers and making my cake. Saves the delivery emissions and money all at once.

What colours did you choose for your decorations?

We are trying to keep costs reasonable- and since I am quite comfortable doing my own makeup, this seems like a logical area to save some money!

I will try to remember to post picture of trial runs- it would be good to get feedback.

I am going to go quite natural for my make up, the theme of our day is quite laid back, natural and earthy, so fitting with that kind of idea. I am thinking a cool brown smoky eye, lots of lash, and then pale pink for cheeks and lips. I will be investing in a new foundation for the wedding, the one I use is quite dewy, and will look shiny in pictures.

You could feel more safe and relaxed on your wedding day knowing that someone else is taking care of your makeup and that's why I think a lot of brides tend to go for that option.
