Any other hotel brides?

TayCath36, on June 11, 2018 at 21:57 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 13

My FI and I have decided to book our reception at a local hotel.

We initially wanted to have a very intimate wedding at a tiny inn but both of us wanted other family members to attend our special day. We have gone from 25 guests to 60 guests.

Is anyone else having her reception at a hotel? I love the ease of planning with a coordinator and the packages. I also love the ballroom.

Yup! did the atrium give it away? Our families are partiers too so they like having that option, and we have a lot of out of town guests (not overseas) that will need somewhere to stay the day before

Lamplighter, right? (I saw you were from London) We've having our reception there but having the ceremony at Grosvenor Lodge.

My family are all partiers so I like they are able to book rooms and just stumble upstairs. Plus, the hotel is offering cheaper rates for the days surrounding our wedding since most guests are from overseas and will need a place to stay before and after the actual wedding.

We're looking at the Monte Carlo Inn.

The packages are extensive and we love how close the venue is to our church.

Oooh, what hotel? How did you settle on it?

I had my after party at a hotel and it was so convenient and fun! And the fact yours offers you a coordinator and different packages will hopefully make this planning process really easy for you!

Our ceremony will be in a church but we had so many others that we wanted to share our day with. How nice that you and I had the same idea!

Our package doesn't include taxes and gratuities but we have already figured those out.

A winter wedding will be so beautiful!

Yup! Our whole wedding is in a hotel, our ceremony is in an atrium with live tropical plants- perfect for lots of photo-ops! It's great to have a coordinator as it frees up my planning time for other things (i.e. I don't have to worry about catering/drinks/basic decor). Since everything is in the same place, we don't need any fancy transportation since a lot of guests are out of town, they can stay at the venue as well!

Yup. I initially wanted 50-60 people but I was quickly informed that would not be possible since he would love to have all his family there and it was important. I did not want the usual ballroom or convention room for a reception. It needed to have some character and thankfully we were able to find a great venue. The hotel was built in the 1930s and has kept all that old charm as they updated it. The ceremony will still be at the church but it's just around the corner.

I love that basically everything is already being included and there is only a few other things we need to look for. They already include so many little things I didn't think about initially.

Omg you sound just like us. We originally planned on 30 people and I was looking at restaraunsts for just a dinner. Now we have a hotel booked that we are using for our reception and ceremony and the guest list is up to 67 and could go a bit higher.

I love having one person I can email about things for our ceremony space and the reception. We ended up going for a package that even includes taxes and gratuties. And most of all I love that our guests won’t have to travel from place to place. If my mom gets tired after dinner she can go to a room for the night while my dad stays longer. And most of all with our wedding being a winter wedding, I love that I can get dressed there and never have to go outside. Not even at the end of the night.
