Any coordination advice?

Sarah, on January 18, 2023 at 09:35 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 3
We are getting married in May, so we've now started getting back into wedding planning mode after a bit of a break.

All of our main vendors have been selected and we will be sending out invitations this month 😁I find though that there seem to be so many smaller details to take into account for scheduling and coordination purposes and it can be a little overwhelming.
But I was wondering, are there any planning details that you have thought of to ensure a better coordination of your event? Such as questions that you recommend asking or ways to ensure a better flow on the day of?If you're already married, is there anything that you can think of in hindsight that could have been helpful to you?
Thanks 😄

We have changed my minds and are going to hire a day of coordinator- they can make sure everything runs smoothly so we can enjoy our day.

Your day is coming up, so exciting!

We had a small wedding - 25 people, and I honestly planned everything to the T and had everything ready and sorted and I can tell you, once the day got started I was not thinking about anything other than enjoying, chatting, dancing, etc. So! where I am going with this is I think it is helpful to have someone aware of your day of schedule and kind of help have it flow along.

For us, it was our head waiter from the catering staff and my best friend - but I did not even assign these roles to them lol they just kind of made sure things were happening, little things, but still it helped. Example : letting everyone know dinner was about to be served and leading people over to seating, doing a count of all of the rentals and making sure everything was there (catering company forgot stir sticks for coffee/tea, small detail but still the head waiter ran out and actually picked some up!), my best friend was going around with the polaroid and making sure everyone was using it and signing the guest book. These are things I and my husband were way to busy to think of and/or take care of so I am so happy we had those extra set of eyes thinking of it and making it happen.
