Any advice for an eloping bride?

Morgane, on March 27, 2018 at 17:54 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 7
Mine and my fiance's family are scattered across South Africa, Singapore, France, Australia, UK and Egypt, so we have decided to elope in Banff in February 2019. Trying to accommodate everyone was too hard, and his family is HUGE. Anyone have any advice or tips to share with me about eloping?

Have fun! Embrace the surroundings! And most importantly enjoy every minute of it!

Definitely don't tell anyone unless you want a bunch of backlash stressing you out before the big day even comes! Just do it then send the just married announcement after you've enjoyed your special day stress free Smiley smile

The important thing about weddings is to do what you want to do. I like the idea of not telling people beforehand, but on the other hand, I also like the idea of telling people you're having a small ceremony and then streaming it online so people have the option of watching it.

I agree with Courtney, don't tell a lot of people about the elopement before... people will lash out/have an opinion, even with "traditional" weddings. This would just add to stress before hand so save the wedding announcement for afterwards.

You may get some backlash on eloping. HOWEVER, remember that this it the right thing for you. Keep it simple, and keep it about you two and your love for each other.

Hold a party later that people can celebrate at (like a BBQ) so they can feel part of it.

I'd recommend to also keep it on the downlow as so many people have opinions on how weddings SHOULD be done.

Thanks! They were actually busy on my date, so I have booked SimplyME for hair and make up and Kim Payant for photography

    No advice on eloping.

But if you're wanting someone to do your hair for the day of, Mountain Beauties do an amazing job (they serve, canmore-banff and surrounding areas (i'm from Canmore, so i have a heads up on this))
