Honestly so sorry to hear you’re going through this. Keep monitoring the situation- no one has dealt with this before so it’s only a matter of time until a lawsuit is filed 😓. Yes its a ridiculous amount. Also considering the amount we are already spending on the wedding. They've been ignoring comments and deleting them on instagram. The doctors house has such good reviews online. I'm so disappointed with the way they're handling this. They're basically working with one weekend at a time so we could be waiting until september for all I know.

I'm suppose to get married on October 11 2020 at the doctors house and was feeling the same way. I don't want to have my wedding and put so many people at risk. I don't think this pandemic will be over anytime soon this year. I want to postpone my wedding but they're charging $5000 to postpone until next year. Did your venue offer at no charge or did you have to pay a penalty? How did you go about postponing your wedding?

So for example- more of your guests are likely to come as they’ll feel more relaxed and will be able to enjoy the wedding... you’ll be more relaxed and you’ll have more time to prepare. You’ll enjoy the last few months of planning more rather then being stressed about it . If it happens for you this year that will be wonderful! If not- always try and see the positives

I’m so sorry you had to postpone. I am trying to come to terms with the possibility of ours being thrown off for another year now so if we get cancelled I’m okay with it as well.

View quoted message Yeah I agree... it was no longer exciting since we couldn’t do anything (all we had left was to send out the rest of invites, get ring, do the seating chart)... but my anxiety was getting too much so I decided to just pull the plug lol. So far all our vendors have been great. I hope that your wedding happens! If it doesn’t, just try to make it a special day regardless. You’ll also enjoy the process a lot more again once this pandemic is over. If you have to postpone then you have chosen a good time to postpone and by then we should be close to getting back to some sort of new “normal”.

Honestly, I am not even excited about it anymore. I had so much excitement and now it has just been anxiety and watching news everyday to see if there is anything that might give me a clue about what Fall would look like. We had a talk with my fiancee that we would push to Spring 2021 if things do not seem to get better by August. I just lost hope but he wants to wait and see.

If I recall, your wedding already sounded totally amazing. But maybe indulge in a special extra/enhance the celebration (or honeymoon) in some way that wouldn’t have been possible had things gone as planned? And do something awesome to mark your would-be wedding day this summer? As others have said time will fly and your wedding will be here before you know it and it will be breathtaking

I’m sorry you had to postpone! I know how you feel. I had to postpone my August 8 wedding until August 7 2021. It definitely sucks big time! But just knowing that we made the right choice and it's for the best at this time. Next year will just be bigger and better and the time will go by fast!

Not an easy decision, but I'm glad to hear it's taken away some of your anxiety and stress!

A tough call to make though the sacrifice is given to push the date to next year to have all your guests present and peace of mind to put savings aside as it would help further down the line. Its hard to accept the heartbreak of the situation. Your day will be beautiful as you plan it.

That's okay..I've made my peace with it lol.. and im kind of excited once again because it means i get more time ... and i won't feel super stressed.

Our original date was Aug.8th of this year.... we were going to wait until june to decide, but I started getting super anxious and not sure I'd have enough time so I figured i'd bite the bullet and postpone...that way i can enjoy the planning of the wedding. I feel like the last 6 months are supposed to be the more exciting part, and lots to do...and I've been super stressed these past months and constantly staring at the nrs... so I decided it's best if we just postpone, not only for us, but for our guests as well..especially since we do have some people travelling... so hopefully it'll be better by Oct. of next year.

Honestly though... don't feel rushed to postpone...but definitely have a plan B in place
