Amazon as a Wedding Registry

Karin, on July 3, 2019 at 18:32 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 3
Hello! My fiancé and I have set up a shared Amazon wish list as our wedding registry. This has worked well so far except for one thing: the link keeps expiring. I’m linking to it from our wedding website, so I think this is a bit of a work around (I believe the link is intended to be shared with individual email addresses). I’d prefer not to make the list public. Has anyone else had the same issue and if so, how did you solve it? I called Amazon and they said their links don’t expire so unfortunately they weren’t able to help.

The link itself does not work. It's happened twice, so not sure what's going on. I've set it to public to see if that makes a difference. But super strange that Amazon says they've never heard of this issue!

I know some of the items you look at do expire based on the item or sells out fast. I did have a link shared to my brother which is still there. Whenever I need to put the list in private, its easy to go to the item and select the link you want that is private (yours) and transfers.

When it expires does it change the link or does the link just not work to get them to the wish list? The only thing I can think of is maybe just the link is not working you could put on the website the web address with no hyperlink? If the web page keeps changing then I would say that it is a problem for Amazon and they need to figure their stuff out....

How often does it expire? I know I update my registry every week even if it's just to put "Last update: July 4th 2019" so people know I go on there. You've only got a couple more months so it would be annoying but for sure doable if it expires every couple of days and not every day.
