Am i Planning Too Early?

I have been engaged now for two months, and in that time I have booked our venue (all inclusive - ceremony, reception, food, drinks, tables, chairs, linens, etc.). But I find that I end up spending hours everyday searching for photographers, djs, etc. and my fiance keeps telling me that we are still 19 months away so no need to worry about doing anything just yet.

Am I planning too early?

Or is working on it slowly over the course of almost two years a good way to plan?

Thanks!!

18 months prior to August 2017 i had started planning when my husband said ok to a small wedding.

Your ok to start even now knowing your vendors will get booked up eventually. Keep a binder with all the contracts and emails related to the wedding.

My wedding is not until Oct 2020 and I have most of it planned for the past year. So I personally think it's fine. My fiance thinks it's way too soon but I'm a firm believer in planning ahead. Congratulations by the way.

Like the others said, never to early to start planning! Especially if you want a certain photographer or DJ.

Depends on where you live. In some places you need to book that far out. Especially if your looking at summer or around a weekend or holiday.

It it doesn’t hurt to look and get an idea of how far out you need to book good vendors in your area. But with some of these you may want to wait a bit before booking.

We have been engaged for two weeks and we have already set a date, booked a venue and done some other small things. We are go get’ers and wanted to get a few things out of the way Smiley smile

It's never too early to start planning! Just too early to start stressing!! Do little bits here and there but dont forget to enjoy your engagament too and forget about the wedding for a few nights! It's good to do your research now! But dont feel like you need to rush to get things done!
I recommend waiting a bit and going to a bridal show if theres one in your area! Best way to get a lot of details and information (and sometimes freebies) from all different kinds of vendors!

I like your gusto since I've been the same way! I started actively planning around 3 months into being engaged and I feel prepared and confident in the decisions I'm making. You just keep doing what makes you happy!
