All bridesmaid dresses ordered!

Becky, on February 5, 2019 at 09:24 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 12

I had posted issues with the dresses previously. After me giving multiple solutions and having multiple issues with different people over the dresses, they are finally all ordered!

My sister is still unhappy about the size ordered but she didn't come to the apt and canceled on me last second. The measurements the store she went to put her at a way larger size then she is. She is upset because she believes they are right and I am wrong even after showing her the size chart and what her measurements fall under... lets hope the size I ordered for her fits. She thinks shes a size 12 and I ordered 14 due to her bust and when she tried on size 12 she was gushing out everywhere, wasn't flattering.

Besides that, I am so happy all dresses are finally ordered!! this feels like huge stress relief after all the drama that came with it. I also received an apology from the biggest stresser during this time as well. She took her anger out on me over other things.

Number sizes are dumb! I find dress designers are starting to get more inclusive with their models, but still a long way to go. I almost cried when I tried on a 10 and had boobs spilling everywhere/couldn't get the dress zipped up!

It sucks your sister is being a pain, is she older or younger than you? Now that the dresses are ordered, there's not much to be done

Why do people need to stress over sizes? My sister (who is a petite person) even ordered a dress size smaller for her MOH dress and just plans to tone up before then. It's nuts that people can't accept just going a size larger just in case.

I'm glad to hear that someone who was stressing you out apologized! I guess they realized that they might have been wrong lol.

UGH. I wear a size 12/14 in stores, and my wedding dress was a 16. People need to relax. No one sees the tag when you're wearing it, they only see you, and if you're spilling out, you look bad.

Just remind her most people need to get alterations anyways, so if it's too big, she can have it perfectly tailored to her.

Congrats on getting it done though! Big load off your mind!

My sister is aware of the difference as she was in previous weddings before. She is just very stubborn and not listening. She bailed on the apt because she didn't want to drive hour and half, the other girl who lives same city was able to come. She had her many excuses and told her if she made it she could have chose the size to order.

I was pretty upset as I didn't know until my first apt when trying on dresses. Everyone else in the wedding party was fine with it.

It meant a lot the other person was able to apologize and get past it. Makes things a lot easier

I'm so glad you got that dealt with! Glad the other stresser was big enough to admit her mistakes to you.

I would try to not worry about your sister too much, I don't have one so I can't imagine if they can be a pain. Has she ever gone shopping at a bridal store before? She might not realize that street sizes DO NOT EQUAL bridal sizes (that includes bridesmaids dresses). Also it is way easier for a seamstress to take in a dress than to let it out.

I know some of my bridesmaids have no experience in a bridal salon at all so I'll be sure to let them know about size differences beforehand and to (try) and not get disappointed if they are measured in a larger size. I'm still not over the fact that I'm a bridal 14 even though I'm a street size 10 lol

The measurements the lady gave her meant she would be an 18 and she refused to order it. We ordered her a size 14 -.- and she is so mad at me over the fact its not a 12. But at least it is done! and btw I had a bridesmaid who was told she is a 18 and she ordered a 14 cuz thats the dress size of her wedding dress. She bought the wedding dress and it didn't fit her thinking she could loose the weight. Her wedding is before mine and shes no where close to fitting it. Fingers crossed for her sake she does

What a great thing to check off your list!

I feel like everyone has that one bridesmaid that thinks they are one size when really they aren't. Especially ones who are more gifted in the chest area (def not me lol)

Yay! One item checked off the to do list. Not to worry about your sister.. one of my bridesmaids wanted to order a size smaller as well, but it was quite tight, so we ordered a size bigger. That way, we can always alter it smaller to fit perfectly versus having it look ill fitting. Sisters will be sisters and she’ll get over it! My sister is a pain to deal with too!! Smiley cry
