All about catering - How did you find your caterer?

Our wedding venue offers catering with the package we purchased. Made it easy and one less thing to stress about regarding conflicting vendor regulations.

Seems to be a common answer here: Our venue is the caterer. It actually helped us pick our venue. We have a lot of allergies both families, and they were willing to work with us and give definite piece of mind about them handling it properly!

Our venue has a beautiful view of the CNTower and we really wanted to showcase Toronto and what amazing food we have. Lo and behold, we found a food truck that had everything we were looking for - even eco friendly food containers and utensils! A food truck would really give that urban vibe to our guests coming from small towns!

Our venue did their own food (like so many before me have said!). Food was important when finding a venue tho. I personally emailed/called 40 venues and asked questions about everything (including food) before I narrowed it down to 8 that I visited in person, then went based on a variety of factors.

Our choice was based on what venue checked off the most on our list of what we wanted. The one we went with obviously did and we had our tasting 6 weeks ago (and it was so delicious!).

Our reception is at a banquet hall, so we had a built-in caterer, I guess. But the main reason we chose this hall was because it has such an amazing reputation for delicious food.

We will be using the catering that our venue uses but we have used them at work functions so I know the food is good, but I might ask for a tasting sample as my dad was a chef and I know he is hard to please.
