Alcohol at wedding

Jessica, on September 16, 2018 at 13:47 Posted in Wedding reception 0 10

Hello ladies,

We are buying our own booze for the wedding and are having around 350 people between the reception and dance .. wondering if any of you have had around that number and have a list of how much of each item you had bought.. beer, wine, straight liqour etc.... Thanks!

This is what my venue gave me as a guideline for what to purchase.

obviously adjust depending on your drinkers (like for us...we will have more rye. and adding long island). But its a really good guideline. one a lot of my friends have used.

and in Ontario we can return any unopened cases/bottles. so if you have extra that's ok.

I'm a big fan of "Better to have too much than not enough". I used the calculators for my 250 guests, and then added 20%, but I made sure that we could return any unopened items after the wedding.

We only had 75 people but I can tell you what we bought. We weren't concerned about running out, but still had plenty left over.

We bought: 4 48-case beer (had 1.5 leftover)

10 red and 10 white wine (about half leftover) (worked out to 1 bottle of each per table, we had them serve it from the bar though)

3 bottles of rum, tequila, vodka, peach schnapps. All the rum was gone but had 1 bottle of vodka, 1 and a bit schnapps, 1.5 of tequila left.

For mixers we bought 10 coke (3 leftover), 4 orange juice and cranberry juice (2 each left), 2 lime juice (1 leftover), 2 grenadine (1 left)

    Alcohol Calculator

    Alcohol Infographic

Here's a link to the alcohol calculator, you can select your wedding size, and input how many beer, liquor and wine drinkers (you can set this to 350 for all). You can also input the costs to figure out the costs.

The Alcohol Infographic shows how much per hour for 25, 50 and 100 guests.

On top of this, be sure to get a variety of liqours (vodka, tequila, rum, whisky) and both red and white wines.

Yes, i understand that. I am specifically asking if anyone has a list of how many of each item they had to buy (I.e- 32 bottles of this or 50 flats of that).... thanks!

You can buy as much as you need and more if needed as back up. Any unopened bottles can returned to the store for a full refund. Make sure you talk to the manager though.

We are also providing all the booze for the wedding. His parents offered to pay for us so awesome, but they keep asking us for numbers and we can't figure out how much of each yet lol.
It really depends on who your guests are...wine drinkers, beer drinkers, liquor dirnkers... We have a good mix of it all. But we decided that we will mostly just have the wine for our cocktail hour and dinner, and have more beer and liquor for the reception.
