Advice for Ball Gown...?

Briana, on June 5, 2020 at 13:05 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 5
Hi all!

I’m hoping for some advice here. I got eloped in April due to COVID but I’m having major second guesses about my dress. I’m not sure if it’s the dress, or if it’s the way I think I look in the dress but I’m flirting with the idea of a different one.
My original dress was fitted and strapless but I find myself looking at sleeves or straps and full ball gown with a long train. I’m wondering for those who have worn big ball gowns and trains as to how it may have affected their night at the reception (just because it’s a lot of dress) haha.
TIA! ☺️

The ball gown I tried on was so heavy, I couldn't imagine wearing it for hours on end. I would keep that in mind if you decide to try more dresses.

I went for a more fitted style and my seamstress added a bustle for the train so I can dance all night long!

I had a ballgown with a train. I had the seamstress at the salon create a bustle in the dress to button the train up during the reception for dancing. Keep in mind if you will be switching from heels to flats when transitioning to the reception you may want to have the dress altered to accommodate the flats so it doesn’t drag on the ground to much. I changed into flats for the reception and part way through a Greek circle dance my husband stepped on my bustled train and ripped the bustle button out so my mom had to safety pin my train in its bustled position

My dress isn't a ball gown style but it does have a long train. The dress itself has a either a button or hook that will allow me to bustle the dress for the reception time.

I've had a few friends wear a ball gown style or fitted with a long train and they either had the "bustle" or the bracelet strap that gather the dress. It didn't really affect their night at the reception.
