a big Venue in Calgary

Hello! I live in in Calgary and I am having a hard time finding a venue that holds 1000 people and that's not exclusive catering. Since it's going to be an Ethiopian wedding the food will be provided by family. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

    That is one big wedding, Lidiah! But we'll help you find somewhere to hold all your guests. I started a search for you in the WeddingWire venues listings and found over 100 venues in Calgary! A few of them that can hold your number of guests are -

    Arts Commons

    SAIT

    MacEwan Conference & Event Centre

    Grey Eagle Resort & Casino

    Glenbow Museum

    I'm not from Calgary, so not familiar with what's there. I think if you want to bring in your own catering, you will need a non-typical venue. What I looked at here were art galleries, community centres, and city-owned buildings (like museums).

    I also suggest joining your local Facebook wedding groups! So much local stuff can be found on there. I had looked on my own for my venue using google searches, but the Facebook groups would've made finding a place so much quicker!
