I second Sasha's park idea! There's tons of beautiful parks in Toronto that do this. You could also play with the idea of doing a brunch wedding - I know this cuts costs astronomically. Also, a lot of restaurants are actually really affordable as well. We had our engagement party at a restaurant, and (5o people) was about $2250. It wasn't open bar, but that included all the food.

Originally we were looking at a ceremony in a park or something such as the Gatineau Hills (we are from Ottawa). From what I gathered, many city parks or provincial parks allow ceremonies but I think there's a small fee you have to pay (I wanna say like 100 or so dollars? Sorry it's been a while since I looked). We liked this idea because it's really cheap to do and it's outside which is nice and then you can spend more money on renting a hall or something for the reception.

Very nice. Perhaps contacting vendors that allow for outdoor ceremonies and ask if a permit maybe required as depending on where you are, you may be required to purchase this. Also, see if they a indoor space on the grounds or if you require to have a tent setup for the reception. Hope this helps.
