Winter Wedding Photos Mississauga/Oakville

Brenda, on February 16, 2019 at 15:51 Posted in Ontario 0 14

Hello everyone! Looking to brainstorm ideas and see what different people are doing for winter wedding photos in Ontario (or any colder/unpredictable winter climate). We have always pictured an early summer wedding with photos done in a park down by the lake, but we moved our wedding date to late December 2019 and aren't sure what to do for photos now. Neither of us nor our families nor most of our bridal party are fans of cold. Any ideas? Thank you!

Adamson Estate in south Mississauga is GORGEOUS, but you have to pay a fee to take pics. There are a few other great parks in Mississauga (Kariya, Iroquois Shorline, Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens, Rattray Marsh, Riverwood Conservancy). Just bundle up and keep moving! Or make it a short and sweet shoot!

As for indoor spaces, the Municipal Greenhouses in Oakville, UofT Mississauga, Bradley Museum, or the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington.

There is a fee but Bradley and Benare's Museums in Mississauga have indoor and outdoor options. I think you can also use city hall

Thanks Leah! This is the vibe I’m getting. Only issue is they’re all so expensive 😅. We’ll keep looking though and seek advice from those experienced. Thank you!

I would try a botanical gardens.

Or try any indoor attraction, like a museum or art gallery.

Also ask your photographer what they have in mind as they likely know a TON of beautiful places that are off the beaten path.

It’s in Carleton Place, an hour away from home, but it’s so worth the trip Smiley smile

It was built in the late 1800s and it’s decorated in the 1920s style!! I love it so much it’s perfect for us, I can’t wait to see how our wedding day will look now!!

Good question, as I am also not a fan of cold and and doing a winter wedding too! My FH doesn’t mind it, he runs hot usually lol, but I’m like hmm how do I stay warm in photos.

Luckily I chose a venue that’s beyond gorgeous indoors so I can take some beautiful shots inside, plus right in front, as it’s an old building and I love old architecture, there’s a river right next to the venue, but it’ll be March! I will be take breaks to keep warm.

    Plan:

Photos out front with the building first.

Back inside for warm up a little

    Finish with river shots

    Finally Reception!

Fingers crossed all goes to plan!
