Winery/cidery/large Mansion weddings

Rana, on May 3, 2021 at 15:37 Posted in British Columbia 0 4

Hi everyone, I'm trying to keep the wedding on a budget and I'm from Vancouver...Hard to do haha. We have thought about possibly doing the wedding in 2023 and on the Sunshine Coast or Vancouver Island because I heard there are venues there that are more affordable.. any ideas?

We are having around 100 people.

What about Ripples winery in Abbotsford? It was one of the venues we looked at but went with another winery in the end (mostly because we wanted to get married in the Okanagan). Ripples winery has a beautiful botanical feel to it and they do outdoor ceremonies in their garden + reception in their conservatory filled with trees and flowers etc. From what I remember, I don't think they were very expensive either. Hotels around the area are pretty cheap too.

I would definitely venture out of the main city, as it gets cheaper the further out you go. If you're looking at wineries or cideries, I would look into Langley ones. I'm not sure what their pricing is, but I would imagine it would be much less than in the Okanagan.

One thing to think about going to the Sunshine Coast or island is the cost of ferries. I know it isn't a huge expense, but if everyone is on the mainland and has to go to the island, that can cost about $100 each way.

But there are definitely lots of venues out there, may just have to do some digging.
