Wine on tables with open bar

Katrine, on July 14, 2022 at 17:06 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8
Hey everyone! I’m DIYing my wedding bar and will be offering wine but I was wondering if I should put wine on the tables or just have it behind the bar since it’s an open bar (that will be open during dinner). Any opinions on this? Is wine on the tables a must?

I think one bottle of each at the table and if they run out then they can go to the bar.

Same as Amanda we aren't having an open bar but we are placing two bottles at each table.

My friends Wedding they had servers pouring when for those who wanted during dinner.

Wine on tables is not an essential requirement. We thought about this ourselves but as we are having a host bar and many of our guests don't drink wine but do drink beer or liquor, we decided on having bottles of wine available and anyone who wanted one for the table could request one. This way it would save a lot of alcohol being wasted.

If the venue provides it, then sure have it on the table. But it sounds like you're bringing your alcohol and having a host bar, so I would keep the wine off the table. Wine is not as popular of a drink when other options are available. I had some bottles on the table for my wedding with a host bar and more than a few tables didn't even touch it, opting for beer and liquor instead. By keeping the wine only at the bar, you can potentially save any unused bottles and return to the LCBO.

Same here! Hoping it will control and lower some of the bar tab but who knows. Cheers to loving wine!

I think it would be a nice touch to have them on the table but that's just me! We aren't having an open bat but we're having a bottle of red and white on each of our tables for our guests.
