Who’s walking you down the aisle?

Amanda, on January 29, 2020 at 23:02 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 14
Just wondering who you are having walk you down the aisle if it isn’t your dad/stepdad?? I’d really like to ask my brother and I know he will be thrilled but I’d like to give him a small gift or ask him in a meaningful way similar to the bridesmaid proposal. Anyone have any ideas?

I kind of want to walk alone. But I think I’ll be super nervous. My other choices are my uncle, mom, or future father in law (he offered which I thought was super sweet)

I don't speak to my dad and my mum has MS so I'm having my brother on one side and my mum joining us half way down if she feels well enough.

I didn't ask my bridesmaids or family with gifts as I think it's quite meaningful to be asked in general. Anytime I have been asked to be involved in a wedding, It was as simple as going for a coffee or hanging out at their home, once was at the train station after work and I felt very special to be asked to be part of their day. If you're giving him a tie to wear you could give it to him with a card perhaps?

My 3 sons are walking me down the aisle. I've got a long walk from my parents house down the yard to the altar so my youngest will walk me from the house to half way down the yard. Then my middle boy will join us and we will walk to the head of the aisle to meet my oldest who will the take my arm while the other 2 walk just behind us.

My soon-to-be-father-in-law is walking me down the aisle. He was a big part of my life for 15 years (before I started dating his son!) and my father passed away I. June (we didn’t have a great relationship anyways). It felt right, and my partner thought it would be fitting & sweet

I love the idea of the socks Smiley smile I think I’ll do that thanks! I didn’t have much luck finding anything on Pinterest about this surprisingly.

Our officiant is someone my fiancé works with and they work in a law firm together as well 😊

My mom will be walking me down the aisle to Carrie Underwood's "Mama's song". The step dad I grew up with turned out to be huge stalker, & I don't really like my mom's fiance much. & It's always been me, my mom & my sister. So it just felt right.

I had both my Dad and my Mom walk me down the aisle. If I didn't have my Dad, the first person I would turn to would have been my Mom, then my Sister, and then a grandparent (grandfathers and then grandmothers).

I love that you're asking your brother to do it, my fiance walked his sister down the aisle at her wedding and it was so sweet!

I like Amelia's idea for the socks, you might be able to find some on etsy specifically for this reason

I love the idea of proposing! Maybe something like "I've got an important walk to do, will you be there too?" with a fun pair of socks. Pinterest might have some cute punny ways of asking too.

I proposed to our officiant. She's one of the lawyers I work with and on the back of one of our save the dates I wrote "will you marry me (crossed out me) us?!" Watching her reaction was so worth it!

I'll be having both my dad and grandpa walk me down. I considered not having anyone and just walk myself because I tend to be stubbornly independent 😅 but they both asked and they've both played important roles in who I am

My mom walked me down the aisle as my husbands aunt did the same for him.
