My name is Cherry and my Fiance is Benoit. We are planning our wedding on August 17th, 2019.

I am living in Vancouver and my Fiance has been here for close to 2 years. We are planning to move permanently to his hometown at Gatineau, Quebec early next year. I had visited Gatineau 3 times. Planning my first wedding remotely from one end of the country to the other end where I am not familiar with anyone and any places is a real challenge. I had done lots of googling and it was overwhelming. But when I found weddingwire.ca, it's like a BOOM!! My feet are on the ground now. I learned a lot from the Community discussion. So I would like to say thank you to all of you.

I had booked and paid the down payments to the wedding hall, selected decorations, menus and wedding cake. I had also put down payments to the Photographer, Makeup Artist and Salon who will be styling my hair. I am all set within 3 weeks time.

I had tried on the gown I will be saying YES to here in Vancouver. And I will have my 2nd appointment this Saturday and will purchase it. The rest can be done slowly like making my own veil, doing my own gown alterations (adding bustles and changing the zipper to corset). Creating my own Invitation cards and even Thank you gifts. I have plenty of time and it's a fun journey!!

My name is Emily and my fiancé is Brian. On January 24th, 2017 he proposed while we were snowboarding on my favourite run called "7th Heaven" in Whistler. We're getting married on August 24th, 2o19.

We have booked out the West Coast Wilderness Lodge on the Sunshine Coast in BC as our venue. I haven't planned anything else as of yet. I'm excited to start trying on dresses in a few weeks!

We have been engaged for about 2 months, he proposed shortly after our 3-year anniversary in Niagara Falls, by the falls.

I am also returning to full-time school in less than three weeks to start a new career, so this was also a push to get majority of my wedding stuff done, so I can be wedding stress-free during school and focus on starting a new career path.

Hi fellow 2019 brides!
My name is Breanne and my fiancé’s name is Coltyn. We got engaged on August 18th, 2017 in Canmore, Alberta, while we there celebrating my university graduation (and as it turns out, our engagement ).
We are getting married on September 21st, 2019. We chose to return to Canmore for our wedding since it holds many memories for us (we both spent time here as children and we come here often as a couple). We have booked the Canmore Miners’ Union Hall for our big day and we could not be more excited!
Other than our venue, we have not booked any other vendors. We do have a pretty detailed plan of what we would like our day to look like, which helps a bit. By the end of this month (November 2017), I would like us to have our photography and catering booked.
The longer engagement gives us time to plan our perfect day and save up to make sure we can afford everything we have always wanted.

I agree with Chanelle, that having a longer engagement has its pros/cons. We were even told that we might be getting married "too late", which I shut down immediately. We both live in Calgary, so planning from far away is more manageable with a longer engagement.
