White Wine for Tables

Arden, on March 30, 2023 at 10:51 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8

Hi everyone,

For our wedding, we're going to be placing bottles of red and white wine on the tables. Has anyone done this for their wedding and if so, how did you manage to keep the white wine chilled? Did you get ice buckets for each of the tables or just put them on the tables as is?

Thanks!

After posting I reviewed the caterer's contract and sure enough, they do help out with the wine situation.

Don't forget, white wine doesn't need to be ice cold. It's meant to be consumed slightly chilled. Your venue's catering team likely would've done this before and will know how to handle it.

Yes, I should ask the caterer as I'm sure they'll do this!

Thank you! I think I can make it work with chilling it for a couple hrs before. There are only 20 bottles so it shouldn't be a problem.

My husband and I did this for our wedding and the venue brought them out right at dinner time from the fridge and were just left at the tables.

I’ve seen both be done, a small bucket of ice on each table and also both red and white bottles being placed right on the table.
I plan to have a red and white on each the table as well, the white wines will be kept in the fridge at the venue until about 3 hours before dinner then placed directly on the table.

Every time i've been to a wedding or planned a party always just placed them on the tables.

You can see if the venue can place them in the fridge up until guests start seating.
