Where to have your honeymoon?

We’re planning for St.Lucia. We’ve always wanted to go, so a few years ago we decided it would be where we went for our Honeymoon! Planning on staying at a Sandals resort. We’ll be going in May 2020 (our wedding is May 23, 2020). We are very excited!!!

That is a really good compromise, FH wants to relax as much as possible after all the wedding stuff he thinks a resort would be best, but he says if I want a cruise we’ll do that.

I like the idea of resort honeymoon and cruise anniversary!

That's fair, I find I didn't notice any sea sickness as we couldn't really feel the boat move.

A good compromise could be to go to a resort for the honeymoon but cruise for an anniversary

It’s gonna be incredible I’m sure, we were in Italy in May it was very nice then but still chilly at times. I think October sounds really nice, because I heard its still hot during the day and cooler at night which will be fine you’ll be on the boat!

View quoted message Okay, so we fly into Venice and we're going a few days early so that we can explore a bit. Once we get on the ship, itll be non-stop: Kotor (Montenegro), Corfu, Mykonos, Santorini, Argostolion, Dubrovnik (Croatia), then back to Venice. We're going in October which is supposed to be the best time if year to go because it's warm but not hot and it's slightly less touristy. I can't wait!

I’m sure shoppers has it too! Ask them at the pharmacy if they don’t have it behind the counter they’ll tell you were to find it. I’d get myself extras just to be safe.

I would get motion sickness as a kid, less so now, (except for certain carnival rides) thats normal though. My FH is a little more sensitive to that stuff, he got motion sickness from a train ride Ottawa to Kingston. So I’m mostly worried about him, I didnt know about those patches that’s great to know! I told him just now and he said NICE!

My parents have a boat on Georgian Bay and I'm (mostly) fine on it, so she says to take a seasickness patch just in case (her boyfriend uses them and they really help). She did also mention that you get so used to being on the boat that it's hard to get your land legs back!
If you've never been on a boat before, though, definitely test it before you go - you never know if you'll get seasick! Do you get car sick or have you ever had any motion sickness? That could be an indication.

That sounds so incredible!! I wanna go to Greece too, that sounds like the perfect way to see it I think, I’m not sure if we’d get sea sick though so I’d like to somehow test it out.. so I gotta figure out like a weekend cruise sometime to test it before. IT sounds nice, you’ll have a blast!

Caribbean Cruise is one of my choices, but I’m not sure yet if we wanna try a cruise or a resort first. We haven’t done either one yet.. I’m a little afraid of one of us getting sea sick so I’ve gone back and forth on it. Also the cruises I checked for Norwegian and Royal Caribbean don’t line up with our dates

We spent two weeks in Italy May 2018, it was friggen AMAZING, to say the least lol

It was my dream trip I’d wanted to do since I was a kid, so I might be a bit biased. But I think you’ll like it, hopefully you love pizza and if you do try it anywhere you stay! It’s always a little different, yet always so yummy!

The sites are pretty awesome too! If you like wine, try and visit a winery in Tuscany, it’s absolutely worth it!

I’m so torn on what to do with this! I have never been anywhere tropical. We wen’t to Italy for two weeks in 2018 and as much as we loved Europe and want to definitely visit again. We aren’t really excited to take such a long flight again so soon lol. So we fell on possibly going somewhere down south. We aren’t beach people and we like to do lots of activities as well as having time to relax.

We were suggested Costa Rica which sounds magnificent. Nothing is booked yet, I’m just day dreaming and exploring resorts online. If anyone else has suggestions for us I’m open to them! We’re getting married March 2020 so going south that time of year sounds good to me!

We're doing a Mediterranean cruise! We chose this for a few reasons:

1. My cousin and his wife did this for their honeymoon and they LOVED it. They have raved about it ever since and they liked it so much they went back and did a second one!

2. I have been to Greece before - I spent a weekend in Athens while I was in Europe for a study abroad in 2016...and was very disappointed by the city. It was a great experience and I'm glad I went, but I want a better experience of Greece...so we're going to visit some of the islands on our honeymoon!

We're going to Italy. South Africa was our initial choice, but neither of us can get time off during the best season to travel there. That being said, I'm not exactly unhappy with our second choice

We are planning on going to new Zealand and going on a lord of the rings tour. 😊

We went to Italy and Greece in October, it was amazing! We chose it as my FH was deployed and I would be flying to Greece. It was a perfect decision, it was absolutely perfect!

We're going on a cruise in the Caribbean! Definitely somewhere warm lol

We got engaged before a Caribbean Cruise so it was an easy decision to go back!

I'd really like to take my FH to the Philippines- I'm a Canadian-Filipina. He's never been and I'd love to show him where my family comes from. Perhaps Palawan? Though I don't know how he'll handle the full day of flying lol

We're going to Costa Rica!

We originally wanted to go back to Nicaragua, but due to recent protests and civil unrest we had to find another destination. So we've decided to discover a new area of Costa Rica and surf until we can't surf no more haha.

We’re going to Aruba ☺️

We picked it since our wedding is in August, we wanted something tropical, and didn’t want anywhere that might have a hurricane. Therefore... Aruba!
