Where to Dye My Veil?

Sarah, on July 24, 2020 at 18:35 Posted in Ontario 0 4
My dress is a fairly dark champagne colour and I cannot for the life of me find a veil that is short enough (I don't want it clashing with the ruffled skirt) and in the right colour. Someone suggested having a white one dyed, where would I start to look for that service? In in the Oshawa area if that helps, and not looking to spend a ton. Otherwise I'll try to make my own (mom and I are decent seamstresses so it is an option)Where to Dye My Veil? 1

Thank you guys! I lucked out and my mom agreed to buy my veil for me from the salon. It's way pricier than I would ever spend on myself but she insisted! Problem solved Smiley smile

If you want a simple veil, just do it yourself and get the right match. It is really easy to make a rough edge one, and not hard but tedious to add edging. Synthetics don’t take dye well, and if your veil is long you might end up with a patchy mess. By the time you are looking at the cost of paying someone to dye it you could pay a seamstress to do embellishments.

I’ll admit, I haven’t heard of a professional dyeing service, but there is always Rit or other dyes available at Fabricland. Because tulle is synthetic, you might have a hard time getting it to accept the dye though. Honestly, since you and your mom are talented with a needle, I’d find tulle on the bolt and get it cut to the length you want. It would probably be the same price as trying to dye it.
