Where is your rehearsal dinner taking place?

Joey, on February 28, 2019 at 08:05 Posted in Before the wedding 0 20

Have you found a location for your rehearsal dinner? Will you be dining out, staying at your venue, or having your guests over to your place?

We won't be having a rehearsal dinner as we don't have a bridal party.

We had our welcome dinner with family and wedding party at Mandarin near the venue. It was an easy route that was looked into week before to see the road and was straight down 1 road.

We just got a text from my FMIL asking about the rehearsal dinner, keep in mind that we're getting married in September, so we have PLENTY of time to think about it.

I really don't want to make it a big deal or production, and would be happy with a light dinner or potluck and drinks in my parents or in-laws' backyard.

Our venue has a smaller, casual banquet room that we booked for our rehearsal dinner. We are able to have our rehearsal in the ceremony space and then go over to the other banquet hall for dinner.

It'll also likely serve as a meet-and-greet for all the wedding party/family as it's hard to get everyone to meet beforehand, since we're from all over.

We're skipping the whole rehearsal dinner. His mom is having a pre-wedding dinner though, at her house.

The recreation room in my apartment complex. It comfortably fits around 20 people in there. I have to invite 37... YIKES

We are probably going to do something low key like pizza and drinks at my parents house or my in laws house.

We are going to look for a pub near the venue, there are lots near by we just have to narrow it down...it will be a super casual evening. It will also be the first time my family is meeting my FH's family.

We are having it on a roof top restaurant with the most incredible views of the mountains! The best man is from PEI and we are getting married in Jasper, Alberta. So it will be a chance from him to meet everyone prior to the big day. Also, the groom's sisters are in New Brunswick so they haven't had a chance to meet my family or the wedding party. Same thing for the groom's father and step mom as they are from northern Ontario.

Our venue was in the ballroom of an upscale golf course, which had a nice restaurant onsite with a private room we were able to book. So we were able to rehearse in the ballroom then go for dinner at the restaurant right after that.

We're having our rehearsal dinner at our reception venue - we're going to set tables up on the dance floor and have a super casual lasagna/salad dinner.

We have not fully decided on this one yet. FH has to let his parents know that this is something they will have to plan and organize. So it will either be at their place, or at a restaurant in town!

We will be having the rehearsal at our venue. We get the venue Friday evening and have it until Sunday at 11 so it just made sense!

It will probably be BYOM (bring your own meat), and we will have a BBQ or something Smiley smile Can't wait!! That very night we will be setting up the tables and decor for the next day and then bam!! Married!!

Our wedding is at a really nice restaurant so I think we will probably do the rehearsal dinner there as well. Then we can do a quick run through of what everyone is doing and where we are standing and then have dinner and our family can see how amazing the food is.

It won't be a rehearsal dinner as such, more of a meeting-of-the-families BBQ at my parent's cottage. Only my mom has met his mom and sister in person once. Everyone else has only said hello via Skype on the holidays. His family is flying over from Ireland a few days before the wedding, so we want to welcome everyone to Canada and finally introduce each side to the other. We will also invite our officiant, and he will go over things with the relevant people on that day.

    We’re having a combined welcome dinner/rehearsal dinner.

It will be held at a community hall nearby, called the Prospect Lake District Community Association.
