Your engagement pictures are a sweet glimpse into your relationship. They can be used for Save The Dates, on your wedding website, or to hang around your first home together. But, as fun as these are to take and to share after the fact, the logistics before hand can be a little daunting. Choosing a location can be a challenge, especially if you are trying to keep costs minimal or have the elements to compete with!

Where did you take your engagement photos? What was good and bad about that setting? Share a pic in the comments below and tell us about the session.

We took our engagement photos in Jackson Park in Peterborough, Ontario. That is where we got engaged!

We went to MacSkimming Pioneer Village in Cumberland just outside of Ottawa for our photos. We went in March so it was very beautiful with all the snow around. There are several buildings and bridges and walking trails at which you can take pictures. It would be beautiful in any season.

We took our engagement photos at our cottage. It's a very special place to both of us. It's the first property we ever bought together and we spend our summers there so it is close to our hearts. We are right on the water, so we were able to take pictures on our dock which we loved. We are on a little island with an old bridge that connects us to the mainland so I thought the bridge was a cool backdrop for some pictures as well. We love how they turned out.

We took ours at the Muttart Conservatory in Edmonton. It had just snowed that night and a little in the morning, giving such a cool aspect to the pictures.

We took ours in a little town called Merrickville just outside Ottawa. We went down to the locks and it was so perfect. They have a variety of different locations perfect for photos. We took some in front of the ruins, the rapids, in the forest and there's a cute little stone building/barn we took photos of as well. We got a nice variety and chose to do the session at sunset as the lighting is beautiful at that time!
