When to book for 2022?

Really worried about losing money due to businesses closing...

    Before shelling out any money check what vendors have for refund policies and see if wedding insurance would help. These days safe is better than sorry.


    Hopefully we will have a vaccine within a year, so 2022 might actually be normal! (Or normal-ish)

    There are two dilemmas: one, you risk a business closing before 2022 and two, you risk losing dates. I would offset risk for one by booking with venues that have alternate revenue streams outside of banquets and events. Hotels, golf courses, membership based country clubs with recreational facilities like gyms and other classes, and resorts are examples of these. Bare bones banquet halls are likelier to fold.

    And I would get wedding insurance. Their coverage no longer includes covid but double check to see if you losing money to a business going bankrupt during the pandemic would be covered (technically you're not cancelling because of covid but they are bankrupt because of covid so this is a grey area).
