When should you have the wedding social?

Our MOHs along with the other girls at work (salon) where my husband worked put together a buck and buck for us in early June being 2 months before the wedding day. They put baskets, door prizes, 50/50 starting April and asking companies for donations towards the event. Luckily, my workplace store manager did give something as well as another store whom I had known well enough of the staff. They made the food at home as well as ordering pizza from outside. It turned out great with all our friends there.
