What type of ceremony?

Rayanne, on October 16, 2021 at 21:28 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 7
We recently booked our officiant and we have a few types of ceremony to choose from. Traditional, partnership in life and Christian. We can also choose 1 to 3 readings for during the ceremony. It has been nice to read through the samples they provide to get a sense of how the flow will be.
How did everyone decide? Did their officiant go through the options with you? Is there a reading that you feel strongly about having at your ceremony?
We will be having sort of traditional and partner in life ceremony.

What is traditional vs partner in life? We weren't given options. We opted for a secular ceremony but our officiant is a Christian reverend (he was one of the few that could perform the ceremony in both English and Cantonese). Based on our live stream, the ceremony lasted 20 minutes from the moment the bridesmaids stepped in to the moment our "recession" started.

Our civil Officiant gave us packages to choose what options we wanted as well and how long or short to be of the service.

We did go through the whole package and I put the wrote out the whole thing with 1 poem that was meant for my husbands parents not present with us. I know there are many meaningful though the time can be longer depending on how many you choose to add.

The ring vows were done by the Officiant as we didn't write out our own vows and the closing was partners in life as I would have like to be said Husband and husband.

There are so many options for sure. It's nice that weddings can be so varied and personal.

We still have to sit down with our officiant. She said she has lots of ceremony options we can go through! She also said she's willing to incorporate anything we want like a sand ceremony or anything. Right now we just want something basic and quick!

We are hoping for about the same 20-30 minutes. I'm not great with a crowd just staring at me lol. At least at the reception people will be talking with each other as well.

My fiance and I chose traditional. Our pastor gave us a booklet of probably 10 pages to look through and pick what we want said during the ceremony start to finish. It'll be less then 30 minutes
