Thanks Emilie! I didn't include the videos because I didn't want to bore people with a long post but hopefully they like the songs! Smiley atonished

Our ceremony was about 20-25 minutes long and it was not religious.

Our officiant is the same, his rough draft had me balling so I can't even imagine how I'll be at the ceremony. That's so damn cute! I love hearing about your weddingXD

Hey Katherine! Smiley heart I love the acoustic guitar idea and the hymn would be really magical! Smiley love I agree with you that too many songs would make the ceremony quite long. How long do you want your ceremony to be?

Wow Sam!! This is so beautiful! Music brings such wonderful memories back! Smiley love I love that you chose these songs, so romantic! I sure you'll cherish those forever!

I inserted the videos in your post instead of the links. That way, we can listen to your songs directly. Smiley smile You can see this post to see how to do it next time: How To Post a Video on WeddingWire.ca

It's so cute that both you and your now husband (congrats!!!) sang along for the song of your slideshow without seeing each other. You seem to have such a great complicity! Smiley heart How long was your ceremony? Was it a civil marriage or religious?

That's so smart! It will definitely help you be more present during the ceremony if you can hear it beforehand. We were able to read and edit our officiant's speech so we didn't have to hang on his every word during the ceremony and could just follow along. (During the rehearsal, our officiant was like "do not look at me during the ceremony, look at each other and talk to each other. We were really good about it and he actually stopped in the middle of the ceremony and was like "could you two please stop being so cute?" because we were just so in tune with each other. I definitely felt very present and like I took everything in because of that!)

Unfortnately, I am not allowed to play any cannon songs at my ceremony as requested by the church. I will be looking at the song list they have to determine which one would be great to use.

Haha! I'm not much of crier but I'm sure I will be for this!! The deal I made was that I get to hear it when he's done so that the first time in hearing it isn't when is going to be cut short or while I'm focused on not tripping while trying to hear the lyrics. He reluctantly agreed that I get to hear his version but we have a band at the ceremony that will be working with him to put their own take on it and I'm not allowed to hear the band's version until the wedding... I agreed to those terms lol

My now husband (!) walked in to "No Man Is An Island" by Jack's Mannequin. (His brother used it in his wedding too so it was very special.)

Jack's Mannequin - No Man Is An Island

I had a hard time choosing a song for my girls to walk into but ended up going with "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson and I was singing along out in the hallway while waiting for my turn! For my song, I did "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge.

Moulin Rouge - Come What May

It is my all-time favourite movie and one of the most romantic songs I know. And yes I did ugly cry all the way down the aisle! Our aisle was only 20 ft long so we played a portion of the songs, not the whole thing.

We also did a slideshow before the ceremony officially began and we used "Rain King" by Counting Crows for my groom's pics (his favourite band), "Hey Soul Sister" by Train for my pics and "Fire Escape" by Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness for pics of us together.

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness - Fire Escape (Official Lyric Video)

(It was really fun because we're could hear it playing from the hallway and both my groom and I were singing along but couldn't see each other. We had been singing along to this song for so long while making our slideshow and it was like "we're about to get married!" When I heard his voice for the first time when we were waiting in the hallway, I just lost it! Smiley cry (but happy tears!) )

I wanted the bridal party to play kazoos for my walk down the aisle... Absolutely everyone hates the idea and Troy vetoed it... Instead I may get my brother-in-law to play acoustic guitar or have the children ring bells (tinkle bells not clanging bells)... Other than that no music at the ceremony... Although we may get the congregation to sing a hymn during the service.
My best friend had 3 songs played at her wedding it made the ceremony very long (almost an hour)

Can't help falling in love is one of my favourite songs so we will definitely be playing it at the wedding! Other songs we want to play are:

Thinking out loud - Ed Sheeran

Die a happy man - Thomas Rhett

    Love on top - Beyonce

The Chainsmokers ft. ROZES - Roses

All of me - John Legend

These are just a few of our favourites that we want to play!!
