What kind of coolers and beer does everyone like?

Sarah, on May 31, 2021 at 15:45 Posted in Wedding reception 0 17

Time for more research 🧐 For those that drink coolers what are your all time faves?Let me know in the comments or suggest something I may have missed. What about beer?We are purchasing our own booze for our toonie bar but will have a bartender handing them out.She suggested limiting options and avoiding the variety packs so now I have to figure out what the popular flavours are.

If you haven’t been to Field House it’s another great one for sours. The Abbotsford location has an amazing outdoor section so it’s super pandemic friendly. Their food is great too 👌🏻

I LOVE sours as well. If you're ever in Port Moody, check out The Bakery Brewing - they have about 7 sours on tap all the time!

Haha thank you 😊 that makes sense why the bartender suggested scrapping the palm bays.I don’t mind most of them but I want guests to enjoy the bar as well so I’m pretty adaptable.

Mikes. I get extremely disappointed when I show up to an event and all they have is Palm Bay. I don't like the combination of flavours, just give me a straight strawberry or a straight lime.

    I'm not a beer fan.

I think Kim’s suggestions would be solid options. I’m a sour fan so my favourites probably won’t be crowd pleasers 😄

I personally love hard iced teas! Twisted tea, palm bay iced teas, hey yalls. The snapple hard iced teas are my favorite!

Haha thank you 😊 our bartender wants us to cut it down to 1-2 flavours or Palmbays and 1-2 mikes etc.I plan on over buying from what she suggests so that we can have any left overs on the honeymoon lol 😂 I haven’t found the black cherry anywhere that has to be my absolute favourite mikes hard ever!!If anyone in Surrey-Aldergrove sees them please let me know.

That's quite the variety! Finally, a discussion that I have STRONG opinions on!

My favourite Mike's Hard are black cherry and the peach, and love Nutrl peach.

My top beers are: Canadian, Dageraad Burnabarian, Northpaw Cream Ale, Parkside Dawn Pilsner and Yellow Dog Chase my Tail.

Other than those, I think you have some great options! (now I'm thirsty)

You can also get cider if you want something beer-ish but somewhat sweet and easy to drink. A ton of different fruit flavours with Somersby.

And I agree with Christiana on having at least one craft beer.

Agreed about including a craft beer! I assume your "something local" would be craft then? I'm a sucker for a good IPA in the summer (okay all year haha) and always a fan of ambers. I don't drink sugary drinks so I can't help with coolers but Whiteclaw is definitely a good option or Nutrl. Our venue uses the local brewery and it was a huge hit. We had very few, if any, choose the domestic options that the bar had. I think knowing your crowd is definitely important here and I agree you don't need so many options. Everyone will find something!

I would personally include at least one craft beer option. I just can't imagine going to a wedding in the lower mainland without craft beer of some sort when we have so many fantastic local breweries. But if your guests aren't big beer drinkers it makes more sense to keep it basic I guess so it will depend on your crowd.
