What is your “something borrowed” going to be?

Jenny, on March 23, 2022 at 02:49 Posted in Before the wedding 0 8
I love the whole “something old something new something borrowed something blue” tradition but I’m struggling to think of things for old and borrowed to use. My something new is going to be basically my whole outfit, my something blue is going to be my garters, but old and borrowed? No clue. Give me some ideas 😂

New is going to be my dress and blue will be from my family tartan sash I'll be wearing for some part of the wedding or my garter. I'm probably triple combining my old and borrowed into the older version which adds "a sixpence in her shoe" by borrowing a very old sixpence from my mom! Don't know if combining is a no-no but I have some time before the final decisions!

My something old is my great grandma's pearl necklace. My something borrowed is my mom's white cowboy boots I got re polishes so they are brand new and something blue is my garter 😊

I’m borrowing my mums wedding dress, as well as my nana’s and future MIL’s to display in the hallway between our ceremony as reception space.
It’s my parents 50th anniversary this year and almost 70 if my nana was still here. So I thought it would be a fun way to honour them

I'm in the same boat! I thought about borrowing my moms veil but it's classic 80's with a lot of poof and I'm not sure if she'd want me to alter it to fit my style so I'm stuck. Let me know what you come up with!

This is one tradition I love too and want to keep but am also completely at a loss of what to use. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely close with some of my older family, so I won't be able to get "something old" there. I do have some old bracelets from my FH's late grandma, but I dont know if it will work with my outfit, but might be able to add it somehow. I THIIIIIIIINK my mom is buying me something that will be blue (she's made some hints) which could be both my new and blue (or my dress can be new)

Carmel make a great suggestion on the borrowed tho! I might ask my bestie if she has anything I an borrow or maybe my in-laws (whom Im very close with)

My something old (and technically borrowed) was a gold and pearl pendant my mom got when she was a teenager - I pinned it to my bouquet. I borrowed my friends diamond bracelet and hair pins from another friend.

For myself, my something old is going to be my Baba's diamond necklace and bracelet that she gave to me before she passed away.

I'm also stuck on something borrowed!
