What goes on the details card?

Sara, on April 9, 2018 at 10:46 Posted in Before the wedding 0 10

So we have the rsvp information about going to our website, then we have information regarding the parking - our venue is a landmark so it should be easy to find. I have added the cash bar part as well. What else should go on there? Should I write about not being registered and only wanting cash gifts?

Ooh that's a good idea, I will let my Officiant know as well. I have decided to put a sign right by the entrance to where the ceremony is being held, but it doesn't hurt to reiterate the point. A lot of people don't read.

I am also telling my guests ahead of time, just so they are prepared.

Put it on your invitations and have your officiant remind guests as well- my mum thought i was nuts when i mentioned this...i flatly said i believe photos during the ceremony is rude, distracting and that unplugged ceremonies are "a thing"

Being one who works in Education, I saw first hand the incredible distraction fidget spinners create...and now, all of gr. 1-6 classrooms at my school have them banned.

I am planning on having a no phones rule, I can't stand looking at a crowd of people and seeing phones staring back at me. I am also paying for a photographer, so there will be pictures.

I find it kind of amusing the new age things we have these days that we have to tell people wont be acceptable at a wedding event haha!

The no fidget spinners is a good idea for weddings that have kids... I don't want any glassware damages.

    My detail card:
    unplugged ceremony
no selfie sticks (venue wont allow them)
    no fidget spinners.
and location of registry (we don't have a website and some of our guests live out of town/province)

Kids or no kids, gifts or no gifts, hotel/shuttle bus accommodation or anything else related, pretty much anything that will help and benefit your guests. Put yourself in their shoes and think what would you want to know as a guest to this wedding. Then put information for the guests.

Our details card includes a map on the top half of the area our venue is in. It has the venue and the hotel marked off on it.

Under the map, it includes our Ceremony location/address and time it starts.

It also has our Hotel location/address and booking information.

If you are having no kids, you should include that along with your cash bar note. You can put the note about contributing to your house fund or honeymoon fund with cash gifts in lieu of items.
