What are you doing for seating?!?

I’m 21 days away, yikes! The seating arrangement is killing me! We’ve had 4 people in the past 2 weeks decide to come, well after our RSVP date. My seating arrangements were 100%.. now, not so much! We were originally going to do assigned seats. I’ve been to weddings where I was sitting beside...
I’m 21 days away, yikes! The seating arrangement is killing me! We’ve had 4 people in the past 2 weeks decide to come, well after our RSVP date. My seating arrangements were 100%.. now, not so much! We were originally going to do assigned seats. I’ve been to weddings where I was sitting beside someone I would rather not have, so I was trying to prevent that, but it’s getting the best of me trying to arrange people. Lol. So what are you doing for your wedding? Free for all? Assigned seating? Assigned tables? Or What weddings have you been too where you liked/disliked the seating, and why?
Thank you everyone. I need some ideas to fix this never ending dilemma

Make a table in the back “the late RSVP table” they can all discuss why their RSVPs were late 😂

The seating chart has been one of my biggest nightmares during the whole planning process! It took me weeks to get it perfect, then BOOM, it all fell apart! Lol.

I'm with Tori on this. We have assigned tables. Most tables are full with a couple of tables with 1 or 2 seats available. I've seen a funny RSVP card that says

"If you don't RSVP by the date requested, bring a chair and a sandwhich"

They would all be sitting at completely different tables. Of course lol. It definitely messes with plans haha. I’ll definitely let you know how it goes!

I know you’re having kids at your wedding as well. Will you be sitting certain kids with their parents? Just having kid tables? Mix of Both? One of my girl friends has a 4 year old and 7 year old. She thinks it’s best for the 4 yr old to sit with her, so I find adding kids into the mix can complicate things as well lol

For us it's just easier to do arranged seating. Just for the dinner then idc where people move to and sit.
If the odd chance a guest who RSVP'd no shows up then they have no seat and that's an easy way to tell them to leave lol
Tables are based on family and the friends tables are a kid of both out friends then we have a few single friends kind of places everywhere lol

I am fighting with my seating plan as we speak! I've been dealing with it for 4 days - too many odd number groups/families, not enough singles to fill up the seats!

We are doing assigned seats, because we have room for exactly the number of tables we need.

I'm 30 days exactly out, and it seems like there's still so much to do!

That's like 1/2 a table worth of people depending on ppl/table. I'd be like wth but anyway. Are the 4 ppl connected to anyone that you could just rearrange them. Can you add a table? I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where I didn't like where I was sitting, as a guest you just have to make the best of your seat/table. Keep us posted.

We will be doing assigned tables! If we get people coming last minute they honest to god will just be put at a table in the back if the chart is already done... no cares given!

I will make the tables based on family and numbers to make sure that each table is as full as it can be and move the stragglers around after.

Wish you luck in the re-re-doing of your seating chart!!

I am doing assigned tables! Much easier than assigned seats. I would honestly hate a free for all seating chart, and all weddings I have attended have been assigned tables!
