What are people's thoughts about luncheon receptions?

Daphne, on January 19, 2017 at 20:26 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8

Looking into different options and was wondering what the general consensus on luncheon receptions might be - thank you!

It sounds like a luncheon is a perfect option for you!

And I personally, really like the idea of a quiet, intimate meal for a wedding.

Hey Daphne! I totally agree with Samtam, Lisa and Valerie! That sounds like an amazing idea! Smiley heart What type of food would you like to serve?

You could take a look at these brunch ideas maybe you could use of them for your luncheon:

Which brunch invitation is your favourite?

    Wedding news for brunch!

What food would you serve for a brunch wedding?

I have the same question as Sam Smiley smile I'd love to see what reception you chose! What type of venue are you going for?

As long as you are providing your guests a meal, any time of day works! I really like the idea of Brunch!

I agree! I've never been to a lunch reception but I'm sure it can be done! I went to a brunch reception and it was awesome!

One thing to keep in mind though is that if you do an earlier ceremony and reception, that you have to get up earlier to get ready! If you're planning on taking pics before the ceremony or doing a first look, you'll have to do it earlier than if you were having an afternoon/evening ceremony and reception. I'm not a morning person and we had 5 bridesmaids to get ready so it wouldn't have worked for us. Also, we had to set up our decorations on the morning of the wedding so we wouldn't have had time to set up and get ready. It can be done though as long as you plan for it!

What made you decide to consider a lunch reception?

It's a small wedding, so only my MOH and myself to get ready, so I don't think it will be a problem for that. Because it's a small wedding, we're doing a ceremony and then a meal with those there (all family except for my MOH). There's no reception, just a meal, so a luncheon would make it more understandable that there's no cocktails, dancing, and all the other things that usually go with a reception. We're trying to keep costs down and a luncheon would definitely help with the food/alcohol bill.

I think that's lovely!!!! Like Lisa said, as long as you are hosting your guests with food (and preferably alcohol), there's not rules abount the time or formality. A lunchoen would be wonderful!
