Weight Loss/gain before Wedding

Cassandra, on January 6, 2020 at 13:31 Posted in Before the wedding 0 6
I had my daughter Dec 2018 and our wedding is planned for May 2020. My weight has never been the same since having a baby which I'm fine with but I'd also like to fit into the size I ordered (my weight is constantly fluctuating). What are thing you have done or do to manage or lose weight before the wedding?

I have been doing Weight Watchers since last July, and I'm nearly at a 30lb loss. I haven't done it all the time as I took November/December off from it. I want to get to 35lbs down for the wedding, and then hit it hard again before we go on honeymoon over next Christmas. I am feeling the need to tone up my arms and should probably get on it asap.

I am trying to tone up for our wedding in August. I have been doing yoga every morning before work.

I am also trying to lose weight. I am making healthier choices in food and portions, tracking calories in my own food journal . I am exercising 4x a week but that’s not new (and honestly weight loss is 90% diet so put your energy there!)

I'm also following Blogilates and absolutely love it! I do curse at Cassey sometimes, but the videos she does are great and good variety. She has preset calendars for which order to watch the videos at too so it takes the guesswork out of it. She also has a bridal bootcamp one which I haven't checked our yet.
As for food, I started making healthier choices this time last year and have lost 32 pounds, cutting out pop, chips, and ice cream (which almost killed me!). I've just recently cut out all meat, processed foods, and dairy (which I'm pretty sure I'm sensitive to anyway) to hopefully lose another 20ish by the end of July. Some people find tracking helps them, which there are so many apps to try out! I also downloaded a step counter app to keep me informed of how much I've moved during the day and take a walk if it's particularly low.

The biggest app that most people recommend and that I even use is MyFitnessPal. As long as you are getting the right amount of calories in then you should be able to monitor it.

It doesn't help everybody - but for me if I just weigh myself every other day or even once a week I am able to somehow maintain my weight without using the app. It's not exactly healthy to do that but if it works and you don't obsess then that's a great way to keep in check as well.

Hi Cassandra, welcome to the wedding wire community!
I've been trying to stay more active through the colder months with fitness classes, home workouts, and YouTube video workouts. Blogilates on YouTube is awesome, in 10 minutes she has me sweating. I'm trying to mix it up with cardio, strength, and yoga. If you don't want to join a gym there are lots of community centers that have drop in classes for yoga or Zumba.
I've also been using MyFitnessPal app to track my weight, workouts, and water intake. You can also track calories and nutritional information on the app but I find that to be a slippery slope for me. Watching portion sizes and making healthier choices is a better route for me.
