Wedding vows ! Traditional or custom?

We wrote our own vows but the officiant also had us say pre-set lines about the symbolism of the rings when we placed them on each other.

We wrote our own and then intertwined them. We started with our little intros and then we'd each say a "line" that reflected off each other's. Then we both had a little conclusion I guess you could call it. It was perfect and our guests loved it 🥰. Took the pressure off each of us individually too.

I like the idea of writing our own vows but neither my Fiancé or I want to say them in front of everyone so we are doing a first look where we will read each other our own vows then just use traditional ones in the ceremony

We plan on writing our own vows, we are a pretty funny couple, so I think I will start off with something serious just thanking him for being who he is and such and then end off with a little humor cause that's just who we are.
