Wedding Reception Rules??

Victoria, on July 16, 2019 at 20:48 Posted in Wedding reception 0 5

What kind of rules have you setup for an outdoor backyard reception?

So far we have:

· No Clinking of drinks, if you want the bride and groom to kiss tempt your fate with the Planko board.

· If you said you wanted pulled pork (one sandwich each) go to this table and if you wanted broasted chicken (one piece each) to that table.

· One table at a time will go up for food to prevent a massive line, starting with the head table and continuing to the left.

We want to try and keep some kind of order as it is a simple outdoor backyard type wedding, but we have a lot of heavy drinkers attending who don't control themselves the best at even family BBQs..

    I second the smoking.

Since it is outdoors, you may want to have signs up or let guests know. No smoking during reception or dinner, only in a certain area, have some cans for butts.

Well then.... perhaps just have some signs and bags for recycling/beer can returns? Just to keep it clean?

Oh, and not sure if you are okay with smoking in your backyard (it's outside but some people don't even like that...) but if you aren't then maybe have an area set up with an ash tray so that they aren't smoking anywhere and everywhere with nowhere for the ashes.

If you are trying to prevent those heavy drinkers from going all out maybe you could put a rule of using the same cup for drinks all night? That way they first of all - finish their drinks and it's not wasted, and then also so that if they do lose it then the bar tender can assess if they are too drunk?
