We decided on our venue at a local golf club and it has these beautiful wood beams that I adore!! The carpet is unfortunate but luckily no one will really notice that once the room is decorated. Our theme is simple and natural (greenery, wood, white/green/gold). I’m planning to have babies breath and other white florals around but not a large amount (keep it simple!). We will have nice backdrops around that will be white or floral/greenery. My question is, would fairy lights fit in here, or be too much? I would want them around a couple of the beams horizontally, and then one backdrop with string lights in it.

If if you have any other suggestions for what may look good in the space... I’m all ears!!

My reception venue has similar beams and we are planning on winding vines around the columns, and hanging a combination of string lights and single longer eddison bulbs from the beams because we're going for a more boho and industrial look

I would def add the lights. urban planet has some of them on sale! you could get some and string them along the top wooden parts. at least i know i would do that! in the night when people are dancing it will look so nice!

I think I'd go for the lights but I'm all about glitter and sparkle. Look on used sites for fairy lights that way if you don't pay too much for them and don't use them you won't feel as bad.

I think that they would look really good!! Here's a pic from my venue with lights like what you are talking about and it looked amazing!
I even think they could have added more lights!

I don’t think they would be too much, just don’t go super over the top with them. Less is more in some cases. But the lights will add a nice little touch !
