Wedding November 5th 2022

Amanda, on February 9, 2021 at 22:57 Posted in Ontario 0 8
Hey everyone!! So we decided on a date November 5th 2022 figuring it'll be nice and far from this nightmare were all living. Getting ready to book the hall this weekend and photographers. Getting a little worried.. seeing that ontarios colour coded system even in the green zone you can only have 50 people at a wedding indoors. How long will it take us to get to green? should I be worried or do you think I'm safe with my date ??? Also if anyone knows of any good officiants in the GTA area that won't break the bank please let me know 😊

Ughhh i know its so hard. I got nervous when I saw the colour coded reopening and it says even in GREEN level that weddings are only 50 indoors.... so made me nervous .thinking how long will it be till we're passed the green. I pushed it as far as I could next year so I'm praying were back to somewhat normal. I mean they can't keep this going on forever. Fingers crossed for you🤞🤞

Hi Amanda! I'm getting married on May 28 2022 (I'm however located in Quebec) and like you I've been getting worried about Covid. For now, my fiancé and I are still planning as if by then the restrictions will be over and we're assuming we'll be able to have our 180 guests. This might be naive of us, but we're keeping positive and hoping the vaccination campaign progresses as planned and that we'll all be vaccinated by this time next year. So keeping the same way of thinking, I would say that your November date is most probably safe, I definitely hope so for the sake of all 2022 brides! Fingers crossed for us all!

I mean, they said that last March about how we'd be screwed if we were still closed by the summer (and I guess we are) and now it's winter and here we are...

Okay, that's good. I know a lot of couples are acting out of fear and putting down deposits without going over everything and only looking at the space virtually, which I always advise against.

As for what zone, the good news is in late 2022, fingers crossed most of us will be vaccinated. The bad news is, we just don't know what will happen. The virus is constantly mutating, our vaccines apparently don't have the same efficacy to the new strains, and red tape is causing all kinds of delays. If you plan for having no more than 50, you're probably fine. But at this point, no one can tell you what will happen.

Have you actually visited the hall in person? I'd be weary of committing a big investment before being able to properly examine the space.

As for officiants, most charge around $300-$500. You can find one with your denomination in your area here.
