Wedding Nightmares

I had one the other day for the first time!

Wedding day and my MOH didn't even show up, and my other bridesmaid and best man (they're married) we're almost 30 mins late. Then when they finally got there we were told we couldn't use the location anymore, so we had to come back the next day. Still no show on the MOH, bridesmaid once again was late. And the location that we had to use was super small and could only get ready in a tiny room where everyone could see us so the emelement of surprise was gone. Then my dad didn't want to walk me down the aisle anymore so my mom had to.

Was the worst lmfao. Didn't know that was a thing until my bridesmaid said it was.

I've had a few of them already but now that I am thinking about it, I cant remember the specifics of them all. The one that I can remember is when my fiance forgot what time wedding started and he was at home playing video games with the guys. He's reassured me that they will never happen haha....but honestly wedding planning is stressful and nerve wracking enough, why the nightmares? LOL

This started for me this week! I had one dream where I was getting ready the morning of the wedding and suddenly realised I forgot to buy a wedding dress so I had to go in my normal clothes. Then last night I dreamt that everyone had arrived and was seated for the wedding, when I realised I forgot to book an officiant so there was nobody to marry us! I went to the venue owner and asked for his help, he said they have one in house but she’s in a bad mood so will only do it if we pay her $10,000. She then agreed to do it the next day for free, but all my family had already flown back to England so nobody was there 😟

Thats so random!! i havent been having any nightmares. ive been dreaming of playing the entire day in my head lolll

Yes I’ve had a few!!! Mostly that it was the big day and we weren’t ready!! By ready I mean didn’t have al the decor, hair and makeup wasn’t hired yet or didn’t show.. nothing was set up on time etc. Very stressful dreams haha

Ugh Wedding-Mares!

I had one where my mom was in charge of decor, and so she planned a safari theme while our wedding was in a gothic style church and THEN by FH and I were late for the whole thing because we wanted to go ride Tower of Terror in Disneyland, but we didn't have a fast pass so we had to wait in the long line first. I was even in my wedding down!

I literally just had my first wedding nightmare last night although I wouldn't really call it a nightmare, more of a frustrating dream lol. I was chilling while my bridesmaids were getting ready and saw that I had an hour until the ceremony starts so I for some reason thought that would be the best time to start reading my book? Then I looked at the clock again and it was 5 minutes before the ceremony was due to start and I hadn't gotten my hair or makeup done yet or even got my dress on... texted my FH that I would be late and suddenly everything was stopping me from getting to the wedding and I was hours late lol. I usually get dreams like this where I'm extremely late for something and there's nothing I can do to stop it but I'm pretty sure that's just because one of my pet peeves is being late. That was the first of what I assume to be many wedding nightmares!

I had one where we showed up to some restaurant but when yo walked inside it's set up like a church but in a nonreligious setting and there were dozens of couples with their own guests and we were basically taking turns having our ceremonies. I was sitting in a pew with my mom and FH and MOH and then they were asking about our music and then my processional song started playing for sound check and it was just a total mess.


I had another where everyone we aren't inviting showed up and basically wrecked the ceremony.
I'm so looking forward to the nightmares being done 🙈

I used to have nightmares that we would be getting ready on the day of our wedding and then realize that we didn't have the paperwork for our marriage and wouldn't be legally married on our wedding day Probably because leading up to the wedding we didn't get the paperwork ready until 2 days before the wedding.... cut it a little close so I guess that's why I had that nightmare like 3 or 4 times leading up to the wedding..

I literally just had one last night! My hairstylist didn't show up, my dress never got a bustle, I forgot all of my speeches and vows so I was trying to make it all up on the fly... So many things went wrong! I'm really looking forward to not getting these anymore. 😔

I had one where I was exceptionally late (I hate being late) so we had to be married in a church (don't know why that was a consequence). My giant butt bow on my dress couldn't fit down the aisle so someone cut it off and carried it like a train...and then one of my best friends/bridesmaids (Kate) stole all our wedding presents which turned out to be mostly bath bombs.


I have weird dreams, so the weird wedding stress dreams are extra bizarre!

Oh man I've had a bunch since starting to plan. They usually involve not being ready too. One time I had no hair and makeup artists on the day, another time I had no idea how to dance our first dance and just stood there like a buffoon while everyone stared at me, and another we had no officiant. Oh and several have been about my dress being entirely wrong and horrible. They're just peachy eh.

I've been trying to distract myself from thinking about the wedding before going to sleep and have been finding it helps though. If I don't fall asleep right away I'll go through the alphabet and think of a food I don't like for each letter - I haven't gotten past M lol.

You are definitely not alone. There are a couple of posts about this. Search it. I haven't had any nightmares yet. Luckily I don't remember my dreams 99% of the time so who knows maybe I have.
