Wedding nightmares

Carmela, on June 22, 2018 at 06:16 Posted in Before the wedding 0 18
Okay so I’m under the 299 days out from the wedding but I’m experience wedding nightmares at least 2-3x a month. Some dreams are about the decor choices was all Halloween theme, or that I’m at my wedding in a pink spaghetti strap valour skimpy dress to my hall, the bridesmaids walked down the aisle in jeans...
Are there any brides out there experiencing this?

Haha, I've been having them weekly now- 1 month out! I just take them as a "what not to do". Like I'd have dreams where I'd forget my shoes, dress, etc so I decided to make a list. The more bizarre wedding dreams I just laugh at!

Yup! I have them about once a month and they usually are about things not being done in time or vendors having the wrong day.... needless to say I’ve confirmed all my vendors lol

I haven't with decor but I've had nightmares about family and fights. Things that are building up and not able to express how I'm feeling.

It's normal to have nightmares- it's a stressful time and it's always on your mind which makes it easier to have nightmares.

For a long time I was constantly having nightmares that the wedding wasn't at the right venue, half my guests didn't show up, no one was having fun, or a combination of all of that. In my dreams I would ask my sister (MOH) if this were real or a dream and she would always respond "If this were a dream, wouldn't you be waking up?".

For the past couple of months the dreams have stopped (thankfully) since my wedding-related stress has decreased.

I've been getting a few lately, but i feel as though they're just goin to get worse! I'm full of anxiety at night anyway, so I'm trying to calm myself down when I wake up in the middle of the night. Usually i just watch a bunch if puppy videos and it helps me Haha

I had the most bizarre dream that on the morning of the wedding, my bridesmaids pinned me down and started dying the bottom of my hair (all spread out like balayage)... and I had recently dyed my hair all back to brown, because I want it one colour for the wedding... anyways, it went yellow and my hair looked like Angelica's doll from Rugrats

Not many other ones yet... but I've still got 210 days to go, and the detail stuff hasn't even kicked in yet...

My family has already been a nightmare 😂 so I guess my mind has no need for the dreams lol! But honestly I haven’t had any bad dreams yet, but sometimes when I’m daydreaming I envision myself falling on my face walking down the aisle or my dress ripping as I go to sit. LOL

I have nightmares too, and I have over a year to go! I had one where my aunt was planning a family get-together on my day and she would not change it! Half my family went to that instead of my wedding and they thought I was being irrational.

I think the brain likes to make up irrational scenarios for one of the most important days of your life but talk with your FH, wedding party and family about them and they'll probably reassure you that it will be okay.

I had some of these! Don't worry, we all go through it. Lots of stress and emotion riding on this one day so it's no wonder your subconscious mind is giving you nightmares. Everything will be ok and you just have to remember that no wedding is 100% perfect.

I have been having nightmares about it all falling apart for awhile now. I just talk to my fiancé about them and he reassured me that this is why we are planning it so well and why we have our wedding planner to help us.
Hopefully they go away soon Smiley smile

Of course! I have sooooo much time before I tie the knot and I am already having nightmares where at the wedding I am being hounded by all of the vendors for money that I just don't have on me! It sounds completely normal to have these fears that end up in our dreams. If anything, try and make a list of all the fears you are having dreams about and try and rationalize them; that's helped me!

I have definitely had some nightmares that everything keeps falling apart - I have been known to worry about the small stuff - it's hard not to when you spend so much of your time and money leading up to this one big day.

Nothing so far! (knock on wood)

But I know getting closer to the date i'm not going to sleep at all. I think i'm going to have to take something to help me sleep the night before - I know me and I will probably stay up all night, like the first day of school kind of deal LOL

Yes! Even when I had more than a year left I was getting them: mostly about being late because I took so long getting ready or that my hair and bouquet and dress was falling apart!
