Wedding night accommodations

Sandy, on July 27, 2021 at 01:24 Posted in British Columbia 0 10
Just curious what people did or have planned for wedding night accommodations? We're debating if we should just head back home or book a bnb/hotel.

Also if anyone has booked a bnb/hotel, any suggestions in the lower mainland BC area?
Thank you!

As a travel writer, I can give you many suggestions on where to have a fabulous intimate wedding night getaway. Try an upscale hotel at one of the Gulf Islands ... Exclusive, private, intimate. The closest island to Vancouver is Galiano, which has two fab hotels. On Vancouver Island, Brentwood Bay is a short distance from the Swartz Bay Ferry and is so sexy and luxurious.

We are just going back home - there is not a hotel attached to our venue so either way we have to travel somewhere. And then we are leaving for our honeymoon a day later which has many luxury hotels booked so seemed unnecessary for us!

We stayed at the venue with our families and friends as other family weddings have been done and it was free since we were getting married the wedding night. It was worth the stay as everyone got to enjoy activities on land and water with their kids and as a whole family. Consider this as time you will get to have with your parents and everyone coming out to celebrate you two as one.

    Hi Sandy!! 👋🏾
My fiancé and I are actually looking into this option. We’re leaning towards hotel. Our house will be available on the 19th but we’re getting married 16th. So we have a few days to wait. Ahaha! Our original plan was to go on right after the wedding night.

We were planning on booking a hotel near the venue but we also live really close to the venue and have since decided it's not worth an extra $200 for a hotel. We decided that due to the fact that we will probably be at the wedding until midnight-2am and we gotta go back to the venue in the morning to have everything cleaned up before noon. So I didn't think we'd really get to enjoy the hotel room.

We stayed at the beautiful hotel by our venue and beside the park where we got officially married on our original date. We stayed both times and so happy we did!! It's also where our guests all stayed. Breakfast may not have been a buffet but you could order whatever you wanted from the restaurant! Sitting in their beautiful great room after was well worth it 🥰. Literally our only indoor dining in 18 months, besides our wedding 😂.

Our original plan was to book an airbnb with our wedding party, but we just recently switched it up and booked some hotel rooms instead.

We're staying at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort the night of our wedding. We both want to relax and enjoy our first night as a married couple and not have to wake up in our own place lol

Back when the world was a tad more germ-free, we were planning to book a hotel that's close to the venue so that we didn't have to cab far after the night was done and give us some time to relax the next morning with a breakfast buffet.

Since then, we bought a new bed. And now that breakfast buffets are largely non-existent, we're opting to go home to sleep in the comfort of our new bed.
