Wedding License Problem!!! Help*

We had contacted the town of where we live a few weeks ago, asking on how to proceed with getting our wedding license. This was during the lockdown, and at that time they informed us they were not issuing them during that time frame. However, they stated that they would contact us to arrange an appointment so we could get our license.

We called yesterday to ask how they were proceeding now that the lockdown has lifted, and that we haven't been contacted yet, so we were getting concerned with our wedding date approaching.They stated that we missed out on our spot for gaining a license for June because we never responded to their messages, which we actually never received in email form as they stated. As of now they're only issuing licenses for July and onward...
We are very lost on what to do. Does anyone know where we can obtain a wedding license within the GTA or surrounding area? Our wedding is planned for June 26th.

    Its great news to hear you got your marriage license and can move on successfully to your celebrations. Its a hard thing to understand why the city hall would give couples the run around for the process of obtaining the license and say its moving onto the next month onwards.

    I got it at North York Civic Centre, it was a 10 min process in-and-out and if you email wedding services at the City of Toronto website you should be able to get it sooner as they are accommodating couples at this time!

    I know government bureaucracy sucks, but the fact that they couldn't squeeze one person in out of 40 hours in a work week to perform a 10 minute paperwork process for a wedding that's sooner than later is weak.

    We called a bunch of places today and luckily the town over to us was able to squeeze us in for an appointment a few days before our wedding!!

    I heard Kitchener/Waterloo area was doing appts via zoom. You may want to check them out.
    I know Hamilton is still not issuing at this moment…They said maybe next week more info would be available, so maybe next week they’re worth a shot too?
