Wedding Games

Cassandra, on June 8, 2020 at 16:55 Posted in Wedding reception 0 7

Hey Everyone,

Looking for some advice on how to properly "Social Distance" but still have fun at our backyard wedding, any fun games that can limit the risk? We like to party so we thought we could still play "beer pong" except we drink from our own cup rather than the cups on the table etc.

Covid-19 really messed up a lot of plans, but I hope everyone is stay safe & healthy xo

What about lawn games like throwing a bean big in the hole or giant 4 in a row, or throwing horseshoes, outdoor entertainment like a band?, spread all your tables well apart so people keep distance. like have the plate table far from the food table and far from the drink table

Hey, we just had a backyard wedding and the two most popular games we had were giant jenga and bocce! Seriously, my family got hella competitive with the bocce 🤣

I agree with the lawn games, anything outside will allow a bit more space. And most of those games are quite quick so you don't run the risk of guests settling in for a long time at a board game.

I saw a video of flip cup musical chairs on Tiktok earlier. You walk around the table while the music plays and when it stops you chug your drink and try to flip your cup. When you successfully flip you sit down and the last one standing is eliminated, and you repeat until you have a winner!

You could do distance lawn games like corn hole, horseshoes, law-tzee (with the big dice) or croquet and have wipes handy for each of them.

Photo scavenger hunt? Make a list of things that guests have to take photos of. First one to complete wins a prize (like, a Starbucks gift card or something). It doesn't have to be physical things in your space but could be like the bouquet toss, you crying (if you cry Smiley tongue ), a picture of the food, etc. It's a game that is kid friendly, and people young and old can move around but the only thing they're touching is their own phone. Alternatively, you can make the scavenger into a bingo card so that it's randomized so not everyone is crowding together trying to get the same picture.

Are you looking for drinking games in particular or just anything that can be done via physical distancing?
