Wedding for 2

Samantha, on October 14, 2019 at 13:50 Posted in Before the wedding 0 2
Hello,

Me and my partner are from the UK and we are looking at getting married while we visit Toronto in june/July 2020. We are thinking of doing it at toronto civic Hall just the two of us. Does anyone have any advise on what we need to do before hand eg. Witnesses, marriage licence. Thank you

    Hey Samantha!

Are you working with an elopement company/planner for your nuptials? If so, they would be the best person to ask advice about the legal documents!

If not, I would suggest checking with your own local government about marriages performed abroad and their legality in your home country. There may be some additional paperwork involved to ensure that the marriage is recognized when you return home.

Yes you need to get your marriage licence before the date you choose. it has to be done within 90 days of the date of your ceremony. also make an apt at city hall to get married!
